Odds That Rudolph Gets Traded?

MR earning praises day 2.
“All the receivers say he’s [Rudolph] one of the most accurate quarterbacks. It’s crazy how accurate he is. He doesn’t get enough praise and attention. He’s just as in the running as each of those guys.”
Not possible. The internet GMs have him as a scratch worse than Kent Graham

That is what I was hoping they'd be saying about Pickett.
What, you expect the guys in his locker room to be 100% transparent and tell it like it is? And just be like, "Mason just isnt that good, he's basically a career backup for a reason"...of course they're gonna paint as rosy a picture as possible. "He's just as in the running as each of those guys" lol sure he is. After reading that, I'm feeling even more confident he'll be traded before kickoff of the opener in Cincy

You mean like every veteran did during the offseason. They all talked about whoever the team would bring in and no one gave Rudolph their endorsement. I'm fine with the guy on the roster, I just don't think he's a full-time starter who can lead a team to the playoffs.

I'm all for Rudolf succeeding, more power to him. If he is succeeding then that means he is better than the two 1st rounders we have on the roster. I'll take that value anyday and all day on Sunday..

Maybe this offense will be like that defense of a few years ago, get enough 1st rounders and it will be spectacular.!

What round did we get O'Canada in ?

Salute the nation

I expect the guys in the locker to give Trubisky and Pickett accolades as well, and they haven't....as far as I know.

After all the Rudolph negativity posted here, yinz finally had me convinced he may be a bum after all.
If he ends up the starting QB I will be so upset with all yinz that I will give Coach a (y) for everything he posts! lol

And what's your keen internet GM assessment of Rudolph, at the end of July, before they've even put on shoulder pads?

That I am not an expert on what Tomlin wants to see, and Rudolph is not as horrible as many say.

Just like last year.

I'm going to wait for at least 3 practices before passing judgement.
No way, bro. Mason Rudolph is the second coming of Jesus because, after three days, he looks better in shorts than the two new guys who didn't play in this offense last year.

Many say he's an decent backup NFL quarterback, who couldn't even live up to that billing by tying the Detroit Lions at home in his one start last year.

But seriously, it will be interesting to see how things shake out. I have this nagging feeling we're heading back to the Kent Graham days but I am somewhat of a pessimist, believe it or not. 😉

Rudolph has no future with the Steelers and will only be limiting Pickett’s reps if he is the No. 2.
If Pickett can’t prove he’s better than Rudy then here’s your clip board son and welcome to the helmetless world of inactive on game day. If it’s such a low bar to beat out Rudy, as many suggest, it shouldn’t be a problem…but in my eyes there is no such thing as “Pickett’s reps”. Rookies need to earn their reps no matter what their draft status and not just have things handed to them.

That being said if Pickett is as great as many here suggest it shouldn’t be too hard for him to earn some reps, be those that are for QB2 or in a dream scenario he just crushes and earns QB1 reps.

I’m rooting like hell for all 3 and if Rudy proves he’s the best of 3 (which I see as highly unlikely) then we should start him. Whoever gives the team the best chance on game day.

Lots of variables here. First Mitch and Kenny are new. Mason also has a habit of looking good in practice / preseason then not look great in games. If mason is still on the team where does he go? Pickett has to be #1 or #2 or he won't be getting reps. Would they make Mason #1 and Mitch #3? There is also the mobility factor which Mason doesn't have. I can't picture either Mason or Mitch settling for a #3 spot and asking for a trade.

Rudolph had two nice runs vs. the Lions, 28 and 13 yards. I heard Wexell say that on one of them he - Mason, not Jim - lowered his shoulder and knocked out a Lions defender. He's far from immobile.

Preseason will give a more accurate assessment. I'll wait for that to see what I think....

Right now if you ask me Rudolph is out performing Trubisky & Pickett. I'm not saying he will be our starting QB but he's certainly doing better than many of us expected from him.
Yeah. I’m looking forward to Monday to see when the pads go on and pressure starts really being applied. This could be a classic QB battle for sure
