Official Free Agency Thread

I’d give them a sneaky B so far. The non moves of not overpaying Russ (A), Najee (B) and Moore (A+) were all the right moves to not make. Letting Fields slip away- can’t blame Khan, that’s all Mike (D).

They upgraded the secondary (Slay>Jackson and Thornhill equal to better than Kazee and Echols is a decent slot option)

The LBs are pretty much the same group trading out Roberts for Harrison- basically a wash at a deep group already.

The DL got rid of useless Larry O and replaced him with a guy with better potential imo. The draft pick or two will be telling to how much improved this unit will be.

Overall the D seems to be slightly upgraded already with picks to further fortify it.

They mishandled QB (I put that on Tomlin) but brought back Rudy A+ 🤣
That will go down to a C if Rodgers signed
Or down to a D if Russ signed

Let Najee walk- mid and replaceable as RBs are a dime a dozen. Gainwell is decent depth piece
Gotta figure another back added post cuts and likely drafted as well. Addition by subtraction???

The WR room is better-much improved already.

The TEs are basically the same swapping out Pruitt for Parham.

The OL they made the right move- nobody can justify paying Moore 4/82. Still need to add a piece or two here tho. Likely the same as RB, draft one and add one post cuts.

So offense took maybe a slight dip at QB, maybe an upgrade so far…but we all know another piece is coming. Other than that the skill positions are better already and will get another piece.

They have set themselves up nicely to go into a deep DL draft.

Adding the QB, RB, OL and DL the draft will bring and the team will be deeper and more explosive than last year.

Can’t think of any of the overpaid free agents I would consider “someone we definitely should’ve pursued”

Great ****-ing post Fiji, thank you !!!!

Tomlin believes our defense is the elite of the elites of the league.
It is only in its budget: We pay more for defense than any team and have a for a long it time and unfortunately it doesn't show in our defensive results. Waste of $.

Right now we have one QB with a 2 year deal. Going into the off season we had zero under contract.

We have Warren,Patterson and Gainwell all on one year contracts for this season.

We came into FA with Pickens entering his final year of his contract and then traded for Metcalf. Who we now have for 5 years.

Our FO/HC/Owner our clueless in how to build an offense. How do you let your self have these many holes on offense. Leaving the cupboard so bare?

No arguing they’ve screwed up the QB position for years

No arguments that Tomlin is clueless

The cupboard is far from bare, we just have a coach that makes it look that way

Do they need a QB-yup
Do they need a RB- yup
Has the draft happened yet- nope

Going into an offseason with this much uncertainty at arguably the most important top 3 positions on offense is sadly laughable. Draft aside.

We will knock it out of the park, come draft day(s).

We will have Aaron Roger’s so we will draft a QB after 4th round.

You can think what you want.
I think with the weapons we have, and maybe the O line coming together to be better. I think Mason Rudolph can do the job.
Yes to get the tomlinship, but also even further,, No. Hes not going to suddenly become Tom Brady. But he can become Sam Darnold of last year.
The guy can throw accurate, and he has a good deep ball. He's not loose with the football and make stupid throws like crabman.

4Mil ? Thats chump change. Hes the best bang for the buck available. If aaron rogers was going to do anything well, he would have done it in the last 10 years. He didnt.

You can make fun of his name all day too. it bothers me, but thats just me, because i see something better than a joke. I see him much better than crabman, and even rogers. Rogers cant move. He cant. Rudolph can.
Maybe Rudy has the talent to do as you hope or believe. Will the system let him excel? Will the shackles be on? Seriously. It doesn't matter who we have at QB....if we go into the season with our same offensive philosophy and scheme...it won't matter who we have at QB. A Tomlinship is the best we can hope for sadly. You know that .....and we all know that. The question is....does Tomlin know that?

im aware.
I just cant bear to talk about in every thread. Id like to discuss things . The shackles are apparently on whoever is back there. That given. I dont see any need whatsoever to sign Rodgers.

Hopefully he convinced them in his 6 hour meeting.......or he won't sign here.

I’d rank WR as more important than RB-and the position has definitely been upgraded

But the most important position of QB still very uncertain. This was a known going in with a very weak FA class and time will tell. I will say the talent difference between OldeRuss, JF and MR is negligible at best. Unfortunately they’ve been fumbling at this position since when it should have been addressed in Ben’s waning years.

At LT I’m willing to say BJ is an upgrade from DM. Will he be a HOFer? Unlikely…but I’m confident today sayin we are in a better spot at tackle than last year with our RT returning from injury and BJ playing LT where Moore was.

In my defense day drinking and a diet of 100% bacon and peyote may be fueling some crazy offseason optimism.
