Official what we get for AB thread

I dont know. Ab is amazing but wide reciever is a position the Steelers have proven to be able to draft.

We need a homerun on defense. We nwed an Ed Oliver type player. A cant miss. At 20th those guys are gone

No. Trading AB and #20 for #2 leaves the Steelers -1 in personnel. Any trade should ideally enable the Steelers to replace Brown AND address another need. They could trade #2 for multiple picks but the market for that is unknown.

I like Colbert, he is making an *** of himself on this issue.

No, anybody who thinks the Steelers should trade the best WR in the league and take a $7 cap hit for very little in return is making an *** of themselves. Colbert is only saying what makes sense.

Cowherd just said a key source of his says no one wants AN+B and the Steelers may end up being stuck with him. He also said many teams are trying to acquire OBJ. Love him or hate him Cowherd has great sources and is usually right on these things.

cowherd is a ******** and doesn't know ****

I like Cowherd, but sources could release information like that to help with their negotiations. Gruden definitely didn't deny interest. Dorsey indicated he'd love to acquire Brown. The Jets are about to be on board as well. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2019/02/jets-discussing-antonio-brown-move

A couple of thoughts...

1. Of course we want a one, but a second this year... and a conditional pick for next year (conditional = a second for sure that COULD become a first... IF... AB meets certain stats). e.g. If AB gets 95 catches, 1,000 yards and 10 (maybe 8?) TD's... the Steelers get a first round pick next year. (And I ASSURE you that AB will make these benchmarks for his own selfish reason... there is no way he allows himself to be benched if the team tries to sandbag at the end of the season).

2. I pay the 2.5 million to start the league year... and try to put the screws to teams that end up without a musical chair (e.g. a WR in the draft). Or maybe wait for injuries in off-season workouts. I then use the same metric in #1... but maybe WITHOUT the conditional language (meaning a first round pick next year).

3. If AB blows up his value too badly? I keep him on the Steelers... but not on the field and at the training facility. The truth is... we have the big cap hit either way. Let him sit and ROT!

.

I like Colbert, he is making an *** of himself on this issue. Tomlin is a POS as a person and as a coach.

I will speculate all I want Nancy, this is a discussion board so keep waving your pom poms *****.

Comments like this make me think you don't have a clue to what the **** you are talking about.

One thing to not like him as a coach, but you take it to a whole another level with pure ignorance.

Congratulations.

One thing I have discovered during all of this is that I couldn't make it as a coach, GM or owner. I would have nipped this **** in the bud day one. First off this whole twitter **** would be getting you fined for conduct, next thing is; you signed your ******* contract either grow a pair and act like a man or ******* quit. If he quits, I demand he pay back whatever he got paid in signing bonus not earned.

AB is acting like a little *****, and crying about respect is what they do in prison or the hood. How many people that have real jobs get zero respect on a daily basis. Like I said AB is a little punk ***** and as the owner of the Steelers I would tell him I own your ******* career for the next three years so STFU and go to work.

OMG...All this damn doomsday crap before a deal is done....OF COURSE the other GM's will downplay interest, & even deny

No one here ever during a negotiation never acted like you really did not want what you REALLY wanted?

I ALWAYS ACT LIKE I DON'T WANT WHAT I REALLY WANT.....

They don't want to show their interest as they want to avoid bidding wars as much as possible.

These media hacks can say what they want, but I seen players who had no business getting traded finding a team, with half of the talent as AB.

Besides it only takes one team to give up their first rounder, I don't see that as mission impossible...

Something to consider if teams don’t ante up is an in-season trade. Right now teams have many options between FA and the draft. If a team gets hit with injuries or things don’t turn out like they planned and they realize a stud WR is the only thing they’re missing, they could be inclined to pay a King’s ransom for Brown. Not the ideal outcome, but something to consider and something I’d throw out there if I was Colbert.

IF i were able to trade AB and 1.20 to SF for 1.2, I would immediately move down and amass more picks.
Don't trade far enough where someone will come get Devin White, who is your first pick.

Keep an eye on the Saints when it comes to the Antonio Brown chase. AB in that offense would be sick. Just saying.

AB would play second fiddle to Thomas in NO. Watching Thomas play some toward the end of the year and playoffs, I would take him over AB right now. He's bigger, faster and pretty much never drops a pass.

Just read another article and it was saying GM's are saying AB's value is a mid-2nd and some are saying it is much lower than that. If that's the case, I hope Colbert sticks to his guns and doesn't even entertain a trade.

No guarantee you find an attractive dance partner, especially with the uncertainty with the QB crop and lack of franchise types. You better really like someone high and be prepared to draft him #2 as a back up plan.

I have no doubt Raiders would give one of their ones for him....

Colbert is the only one standing up against the kid, we should get what we expect and move on. The problem is Brown's tweets make him out to the real world, as a chump, as he himself feels it makes himself out as a hero treated so badly. His latest tweet his absolutely shameful in many ways.

Too much damage done by AB for us to receive a number one or even allow him to return if we dont get fair return value for him..

Im predicting no higher than a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year for AB..

If it's only a 3rd, there is just no way you move him. If they do, I will be more pissed than I am now. Even just a 2nd and I would be pissed. If we got a 2nd and a 3rd, I might be able to stomach it but I'd still be pissed. But, no way I move him for a 3rd even packaged with another pick, say a 4th.

Congratulations.

You mean like when Tomlin had a fundraiser at his house for Hillary? Or when he made an ads of himself at the high school football game with the thug Joey Porter ? Or when he is with the young girls outside of the Burgh ? Tomlin is a POS sorry to ruffle your flowers *****.

We’ll get a first round pick. I still think Gruden with all his draft capital sends the 24th pick and a third or fourth round pick for Brown. He needs a star receiver and a marquee player especially moving to Vegas. That’s my prediction,
My dark horse team is the Panthers sending the 16th pick of round one and a fourth or fifth round pick for Brown. David Tepper owner of Panthers is former minority owner of Steelers. Panthers need help for Cam and they’re letting Funchess walk.
