******* officiating

The refs started their full on BS in the 2nd half because they couldn't let the 2nd place team from last year look so bad/lose. It got worse as the 2nd half went on. The Steelers players were literally looking for a flag after every hit or tackle. I told my wife they should have skirts on or just play flag football. I think Minkah would agree since he got flagged for a couple of the BS calls. But, the BS calls going against us certainly weren't going against them. There was the obvious PI on Muuth in OT. There was an obvious PI in the 1st half I brought up in the game thread where their guy was pulling our guys arm back and holding him from running, then he grabbed his jersey, and then he grabbed his towel and pulled that out. The official called nothing. The NFL should be absolutely embarrassed by how the officials called that game.

Actually Drink it doesn’t matter where the feet are in play. Only where the ball is. If the ball crossed the plane, while the player was running parallel to the goal with one foot in the end zone and one in the field of play it would be a TD because the ball crossed the plane. Which is why most try to dive over when they are getting hit. As soon as the ball breaks the plane, play is dead, no chance of fumble.

I understand that IKE, but the ball never broke and the second foot out of bounds thus the play is dead.

Santonio Holmes received the ball (catch) both feet in the endzone but the ball never broke the plane as he was tackled forward out of the endzone, TOUCHDOWN (against the ravens). I

If both feet had been in bounds in the endzone, on the bungles player it would have been a touchdown broken plane or not.

Yeah, there was some serious home cookin’ going on.

On Minkah, he had that one terrible call and then it was a play or two later and he made another great play. After he made that play you could see him go up to the ref and spread his arms which looked to be proverbially asking "gonna call that one too?" LOL

I'm sitting here trying to imagine what you typed in the gif search to come up with this one. I got nothing
Don’t hurt yourself imagining. My brother sent via text. Just felt it was a good time to use it

Funny you mention it but the announcers were ****-ing jag-offs when it came to know simple football rules. That goal line catch and out of bounds was the correct call but the announcers comented that he had his foot inside the goal line and that was a touchdown. If BOTH feet where across the goal line then yes but it was only one and the other out of bounds.

There were several instances where they ****** up and even at times I wandered who the bungles were even playing as all they talked about was the bungles.

Loved the earlier Boz FG where the cameras were on the sideline and had to judge make or miss by the reaction of the players…**** commentators, **** camera men, **** refs, **** time keeper what we come to expect in that shithole

The shithole known as the NFL, don't forget the bungle-jungle is a shithole too !!!!

this was the most telling thing… the Bengals gave up seven sacks and a bunch more hits… they had a bunch of rookies… and new players.. when was the last time a oline under siege like that was not called for holding? There were a bunch of obvious ones.. a couple the announcers even tried to incorrectly explain away… they were just protecting Joe Exotic and trying to prop up his star … the more star qbs tge better for the league..

This is unofficially known as the "Can't Have The Steelers Set More Sacks Records Than They Already Hold" rule. See Steelers vs Tampa Bay, Oct. 21, 2001, and reference "Brad Johnson".

As soon as the ball breaks the plane, play is dead, no chance of fumble.

Unless it's fumbled right after crossing the plane, and the ball rolls out of bounds. No TD, touchback for the other team. Right?

I posted this in the game thread, but it was obvious Minkah had a thing going against Mixon all game. They were at each other like Hines Ward and Ed Reed used to. I was thinking to myself that Minkah best be careful or he'd get a personal foul penalty.

If the ball is fumbled after crossing the plane it is a td… its only if the ball is “ loose” before crossing and rolls into the end zonw then out of bounds that its a touchback
… so if someone stretches for a td and gets tge ball swatted away before it crosses, then its a fumble, but if one half inch of that ball is deemed to be over the plane, it’s instantly a td and the play is dead

Look, imI'not one to whine about the refs, but are you ******* kidding me? The 4th quarter was goddamn insane, I mean you've got to be kidding me. Jeezus, how crazy can be you be with the bullshit calls with zero replays showing them? **** you CBS, and **** you nfl.

Joe
Couldn't have said better myself.

Unless you're Jesse James...

In the Holmes catch - the ball was already across the goalline and he made a helluva catch in the back right corner. Not the same as Chase' catch where he was parallel w/ the goalline and the ball never crossed the goalline...

Well we will never know about Jamari Chase’s catch. Bungles HC didn’t challenge it. Lord, if was Tomlin that didn’t challenge a play like that scenario, this board would have self destructed.

Heck even WHEN he challenged, officials in NY still screwed it. There are 57 cameras on the field at one time during a game and “there still isn’t enough video evidence to overturn“? I guess they didn’t see the face mask on DJ at the same time during that review too.
