If we sign a RB this week, we will have to dump a rostered player.

Who do you dump?

Keep in mind that there are 20 teams watching the playoffs that can easily pick up whoever you cut.

Landry Jones or Justin Brown ... Easy Peezy

No votes for Gathers, Palmer, or Hubbard?

How about Cam Thomas, he is unlikely to be on the team after the end of the season.

this is my vote!

No way they cut Landry, but i think everyone wishes at the least he was on our PS instead of our 53 man roster. Of course someone else might be ready to swoop in and sign him.

If Tuitt get run over or hurt, you need Thomas for relief duty, at least. I shutter typing that, but they may need that fat body.

Gethers is on the roster. Thomas is not practice squad eligible so who ever signs him would need to put him on their roster.

Not from me. Palmer has contributed and Spaeth although playing is still dealing with his own hyper extension. If I'm not mistaken, Hubbard has seen a few snaps also and linemen who know your blocking scheme are more important that 6th Wrs or Landry "if he gets in we're ******" Jones. Geathers I might consider. But, I'd just feel more comfortable if it were Jones or Brown. That said, the FO will of course release one of the linemen or do something exceptionally crazy like release Ross Ventrone.

Archer, but that would be Tombert admitting they made a mistake so that ain't gonna happen.

Justin Brown

DHB...whats he done since hes been here ? Ab..so...lute...ly. No....thing...........ship his *** out with a Fed EX label overnight to nowhere land.

He plays special teams or not?

Justin Brown

Archer / -Bay / jones. Thomas is still needed, Landry won't go, but I'd like him to go.

Salute the nation

Justin Brown was released, I wonder how shocked he was.

Started the year as WR2 and ends up on the outside looking in as we enter the home stretch for #7.

I might've released Lance Moore, he hadn't done squat either. At least DHB is solid on Special teams.

Moore has been dressing though. Why would you release a player that is playing on Sunday for one that isn't?

I know, I am not there, to use a Tomlin-ism....Obviously Justin Brown has not shown the ability to do as well as Moore, whether that is blocking or receiving....
I was just thinking Brown can't be that bad if he was starting week 1. But again, I have to trust the Steelers to make the right decision.

Personally, I think JB has more upside. DHB in this situation would get the boot IMHO since JB can play special teams. Name the last play DHB made on ST. See?

I questioned having Brown that high on the roster depth chart to begin with; to me, he never showed he can play on this level. It turns out that I was right. I believe they over-emphasize hustle in practice and end up playing players who aren't good enough, basing too much on how hard they work, ala Redman, who wasn't even worthy of a roster spot, let alone be the starter. They fail at this all the time - but that is the warped PA/Amish mentality where they overly rate hard work over talent. Yes, hard work is a must trait in the NFL, but don't let that factor alone make you blind to good decisions on who should be out there. So Brown and Redman gave good effort in practice, so what? They simply were not talented enough regardless.

IDK, I don't think it matters either way; I don't think JB has an upside. He just isn't that good. Can't make catches in any kind of traffic. I think the only reason Landry Jones is still on roster is they don't want to tip their hand that this kid is a total bust and was a dumb draft pick. After all, they can't keep their rep as "draft gurus" if they admit to crappy picks too often.
