Options at QB1 (including rumors of offer to Darnold)

If I’m the Steelers at this point, I do the following:

- Resign Wilson for 2 years, let him start and mentor the next QB
- Draft Quinn Ewers in round 3, he is starter ready if Wilson stinks or gets hurt
- Trade Pickens to recoup the 2nd round pick lost for DK, take best RB available
- Rebuild DL
- Sign legit CB in FA
Getting a 2nd for Pickens right now is a pipe dream. No one is giving up a 2nd for him with ONE YEAR left on his rookie deal and no guarantee he'd want to sign an extension there. Besides, they didn't bring DK in to replace Pickens, they brought him in to PAIR him with Pickens. So we didn't repeat last year with our WR's. We drafted a WR last year as well, so saying we'll just draft the WR2 isn't a guarantee that DK is. Roman is like an extra draft pick this year.

sign Roger's and Wilson (Zach, not Russ) or Jones, add DL, OL, RB and CB FAs soon,

draft DL in 1, RB/CB in 3, then BPA

Hope Jones and Fantanu can perform.

Zach Wilson is a Dolphin, agreed to a one year 10m deal.

We’ll see, he’ll get a bag from boosters and needs more than one year starting. He’ll be going to a bad team with very little experience in 2026 and they’ll expect him to be the savior.

3.2 mil last year to ride pine
Seeing 6.5 this year

If he does ANYTHING, that number goes up

If he blew it up and the Steelers somehow were positioned to draft very early he’d be better off to avoid the dumpster fire and return to Texas where that number only grows.

Mike’s system is death to QBs

Even a half breed Manning has to be smarter than that

Uncle Eli was smart enough to avoid the Chargers

Since I have time today...I see a new name that really interests me: JOE MILTON III

The *'s are shopping him and he has a rocket launcher for an arm - yeah, @Superman will cream him jammies (Milton is a Tennessee product); but this could be a very viable option.

Send the *'s CA3 and next year's 4th...

Too much. He was drafted in the 6th round, and the Patriots have Maye and just signed Dobbs. If he was worth that, they wouldn't be considering trading him and/or wouldn't have signed Dobbs. Take that 6th round pick we got in the DK deal, and offer it up.

I'd give this year's 5th then. Make it so, Omar Kahn!!!

Is Minshew still available? Lets get Kupp too, bring in a gun slinger.... I am not afraid of Int's...just keep slingin it! Defense is probably gonna be on a rotation of healthy people as usual by mid year, let's at least put the other defenses on notice!

Milton can throw a grape through a brick wall.

problem is - that brick wall is either 90 or 4 yards away. he literally has no touch on the ball. much rather try to get Hendon Hooker. or even Kyle Trask in free agency.

Just saw a new spin for the Milton trade theory. They are talking about giving up our 3rd or 4th round pick. Is he that good? He was just a 6th round pick a year or two ago. I was thinking they could get him for one of our 7th round picks. I don't know too much about him but a 3rd or 4th rounder seems very high for a backup QB (QB2 for them but QB1 for us).

no. 3rd is too high and 4th would be because we ****** ourselves into a corner but are trying to unfuck ourselves.

With Clown-lin what else do you expect? Coming up on a decade without a playoff win.

For a 3rd or 4th just grab your own QB in this draft and reap the benefits of the cheap contract longer

Plenty of mid round prospects that could be equal to/better than Milton.

Definitely wouldn’t go higher than a 6th, but a 7th would make more sense.

Not so sure they brought him in to pair with GP, how do you think George feels about being bumped from #1 to #2 in a contract year?

Wouldn’t shock me at all to see him traded on draft day.

His first year in college was the same as Justin Fields. He throws one speed — 100 MPH fastball.

If you want a project, draft a young one like Milroe.

So a team can't trade for Pickens and sign him to an extension? Is that unheard of or something? Oh wait.....we did just that with Metcalf. Nevermind.

Trading for Milroe one would need a plan. The Steelers are simply winging it the last few seasons. Rudderless without any direction.

Apples to oranges. If we hadn't just traded for Metcalf, we might have been able to get a 2nd. Teams don't trade FOR a WR with a 2nd round pick, then get that pick back by trading away a different WR.

Why are you assuming he's been bumped?
