Thought he was the dissapointment of the season with Jonnu Smith right behind. I thought he was gonna be a three down backer for years. Was pretty damn good rookie season. Then he talks **** about his pass coverage skills. Should have known right then. Looks very athletic and fast. Certainly plays with intensity. Seems like he wants to be great. He's a little light at the point of attack but still. Not incredibly for modern ILB. Only hope at this point is new eyes and schemes and maybe another hulk up front help him. Otherwise he's gonna bust.

I wasn’t disappointed. I think he played well aside from some growing pains. Inside Linebackers take a lot of seasoning. Sometimes as much as 4 years before their recognition and instincts are fine tuned to the speed of the league. He was getting it. I am not worried about him one bit.

hope this previous year humbles him to work on his craft instead of talking about it

The young man is playing out of position.
He needs to move to outside.
With this higher of Frank Cignetti, I’m starting to think that the Steelers are gonna try to make a deal with the Raiders to get their number one overall and select Mendoza.
I think the deal looks like TJ and our next two years number ones for the right to select number one overall.
With TJ gone, we can move Wilson into the outside linebacker mix, and I think the kid will excel.
I know I just said a big mouthful that a lot of yinz will have a hard time getting through your craniums smoothly…😉

Crack is whack

Won't hurt not having a head coach that talks about how great the defense is before it plays one snap.

Was that our last “Historic” coach ?

Slid right through my cranium and then on out my asZ, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect your opinion.

I’m ok with TJ and a 1st, but that 2nd 1st is where I’m having a little trouble.

The short time I’m writting this, your proposal becomes more and more attractive.

Thank You SIR.

He had his ups and downs this year. I prefer to think of them as growing pains. I think he'll excel in 2026.

To me the ILB situation was confusing. As much as wilson was a disappointment, so did queen. Neither were stand out. Not sure if its scheme
or talent.
Queen had more missed tackles than any other LB in the league, if I recall correctly.

That cannot ever be ok.

This was discussed on one of Matt Williamson’s podcasts (with Chris Halick I think). There was a period where communication was a problem and before the IND game Queen had a meeting with MT and Austin about the scheme and that multiple players felt their best traits were being hampered by the scheme being used. LB/DBs and SAF all wanted a simplified communication method so players could play without “thinking” where everyone was supposed to be and just concentrate on their assignment. Green dot players, Queen and Wilson after the change felt things clicking against IND and it carried through till the end of regular season (except against LAC, GBA and off course BUF. So obviously MT/Austin listened and made adjustments to the players recommended. Hopefully Graham will get the best out of the group. Both PQ and Wilson, played much better in their roles after the changes. Wilson looks like he wants to be the midfield enforcer, which is what he was at NC State.

126 tackles. For a guy still learning the position that is a lot.
Tackles. The most convoluted stat ever. Tackles for loss, fantastic, Tackles at three yards. Great. Tackles at 10 plus yards.....Tackles after catches made.......not so good. Im a game watching guy. They started season with him as every down line backer. Their run defense was ***. They replaced him with the Harrison guy from tge Rats. It got better. Tells me the tape didn't look good.

I saw him look very good in a lot of games. I don't see what you are seeing other than they ask him to do more when he is in than they asked Harrison to do when he is in. Harrison is simply asked to be a run stuffer, that's it. When Wilson is in they ask him to do a lot of different things. They give him more responsibilities which in turn makes him less decisive as young player and can lead to hesitation. Queen had much of the same issues until later in the season when he really started to get comfortable with calling the plays and making adjustments. Harrison was put in and told to go find the ball carrier. Despite this Wilson still made some remarkable plays and showed growth. Ambiguous or not he put up numbers in a time-sharing system. When he had Dominant line play he was as good as anyone. When Harmon was healthy and eating up lineman both he and Queen thrived. I am excited to see what he can do with a better coach and better scheme, same with Queen.

While we want these guys to be studs from day 1, Wilson was still a third-round pick and needs time to develop. He had a bit of a slump last year, which isn't out of the ordinary, yet finished the year playing well. Graham is going to use the ILBs a bit differently, so hopefully he can get the most out of Wilson, who still has a ton of upside.

What is your guess with Queen? A trade/cut or keep?
