Not sure this goalie is an improvement over Casey
Yep, it looks like the same round hole/square peg syndrome we've seen out of the Steelers so often. Night after night/year after year too. These guys have no team speed. They have some fast players, but as a whole, this team is slow and it’s costing them.
As excited as I was for many of the FA signings, it’s looking at this point that a system is being forced on players that are incapable of playing that system well.
We had to try something in the net.
This team should be called "The 20 Minute Men"
I know. I'm a fan of Sully and I'd hate to see him go. Also doubt it would make a difference since the lineup is old n slow. There's no doubt he'll have a new job within minutes of getting let go but I do wonder if he's trying too hard to make the current roster fit his scheme rather than the other way around.I'm not sure that this is the answer, but don't be surprised if Sully get canned.
Not sure if they took the foot off the gas or if there's any gas left in the tank.Just watch the first period when they managed to score a goal then turn it off.....
Funny how the cast of characters changes but the results seem to stay the same....![]()

Having a B grade net minding situation doesn't help.I would hope it's not a gas tank issue this early. If it is, we are on for a long season.
I think it's more of the other teams adjusting and getting to their game.

Totally agree with your assessment of the other goalies. I wonder if it's because we lack that net front presence each shift and either they are getting good sightlines and/or there's nobody home to dump in the rebound.I thought he has looked pretty good at times but coming out of the net to play that puck last night....Let's not do that again.
Also I would like to know why the other teams goalie always looks like a Vezina winner against the Pens. You think about it, it has happened a lot the last few years.
They had several grade A chances last night that would have blown the game open in the first but Oettinger made the saves.
We never replaced Hornqvist.Totally agree with your assessment of the other goalies. I wonder if it's because we lack that net front presence each shift and either they are getting good sightlines and/or there's nobody home to dump in the rebound.
Let's plant Zohorna in front of the goal and see how he does. It'll at least take a little work from one, maybe two guys to displace him.We never replaced Hornqvist.
Have you heard anything about Ludwig?
I haven't. Will keep looking.Have you heard anything about Ludwig?
I only read he was knocked out
He is being administratively sent down. He won't miss a game in the bigs.So much for planting Z in front of the goal.

Good... Don't mess with the ZThat was just for a day from what I am seeing. For Salary cap reasons.

Not sure what to expect tonight. In the old days this would be one of those games that fires them up and breaks them out of a slump, but I just don't see that extra gear they used to have and used on a regular basis. That said, if they get some lucky bounces, the Pens could win, or lose really ugly and people start chanting for Sully to go.Need all hands on deck tonight or it might get ugly.
