Can someone who lives in the state please explain to me why Trump can't get above 44% and trails Clinton?

Isn't the state falling apart at ever nail? I don't get it, and this one state is the biggest reason why Hillary wins.

Simply too many Democrats in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.
As well-known political analyst G. Terry Madonna of Franklin & Marshall College once said, "In Pennsylvania the Democrats just need a good turnout in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and they can tell the rest of the state to go to hell."

Ron is correct...the tippong point though has been the Philly suburbs. Lots of white college educated female voters here who were too socially liberal for Romney and sure as hell aren't voting for Trump. You can tell by the ads here which are hammering away at the women's issues.

So, the state is in massive debt

Things are falling apart. Buildings, infrastructure, schools, etc..

The factory type of jobs, jobs that Trump wants to win back are currently gone.

Trump should pull guns and religion quote from Obama and run the ads in the state, telling the voters a vote for Clinton tilts the Supreme Court the other way on the 2nd amendment and will further damper religion.

I still don't get why Clinton is leading by the margin she is here & hope these Philly Democrats don't turn out in the numbers they did for Obama.

The best thing about women here is they change their mind faster than men do and despise liars.

Unless Clinton is speaking in some dog whistle I can't hear, she's duping them. Equal pay does not exist on her staff. She takes money from Iran and Saudia Arabia, nations that hate women and minorities in general. And she's linked to that Anthony Weiner guy, a scum bag type into porn with underage girls.

Is this what women really want?

Run those ads too.

You're preaching to the choir...but really the bottom line is abortion. I am in a small minority of women I know here who aren't fervently pro-abortion. When it comes out in conversation that I am pro-life people look at me like I have two heads. They are hammering Toomey on it and the slimy idiot Katie McGinty may win because of it.

Trump said mean things to fat women.

Democrats will vote for Hillary even if she were behind bars. They don't care about morals, ethics, corruption or someone being a criminal. They really don't.

And they easily accept the right wing conspiracy bullshit.

Says a member of the party of Nixon and Reagan...

You absolutely can not make it up.

It's all about turnout.

If the center/rural parts of the state turn out like CRAZY for Trump and the urban/black centers in Philly and Pittsburgh don't turn out, you have a close race.

The state comes down to soccer moms. If they vote in mass, Trump is in trouble. If they don't and their husbands do, Trump has a shot.

LOTS of split households in Pennsylvania. Lots.

I think Trump has a 1 in 3 chance, but he losses, this state could be the reason why. Pennsylvania needs to go red. The state has been singing the blues for years....

I just drove down the Susquahanna river this weekend from Williamsport through Harrisburg and down 15 to Frederick MD. 98% of the signs were Trump Pence. The only Clinton Caine support was downtown Harrisburg and in town in a small town of Muncy where my family lives.

If the election was campaign signs, Trump wins in a landslide. Though I think Clinton supporters may be afraid to show their support by using signs, since the Trump supporters are much more verbally aggressive than supporters in past elections. Perhaps they don't want their family or home to be targets?

Rural America is very eager to vote this year. More so than any election in my lifetime.

They really want to send a message to Washington and Trump is there chance.

This is 50 years coming. Liberals from the Blacks, Hippies, Women's Libbers, Environmentalists, Gays, Pro-Choicers, Atheists, Hispanics/Illegals, Climate changers, Muslims, Transgenders...

Politicians and media have pandered to their squeaky wheels endlessly. Always rallying behind them.

Where has the media/politicians/groundswell been for rural America and their eroding tripod of values: Christian Faith - Family - Community? Where has the media/politician/groundswell been for the loss of rural jobs, small businesses and family farms?

No where. It's crickets.

Big business/big government have bought up rural American and spit them out. Huge agriculture conglomerates with lobbies. Big business/retail (with lobbies) making it impossible to have a small retail anymore. Fast/Chain food pushing out the family restaurant.

Is it a wonder they are angry?

Maybe everyone's getting by. Maybe the material things are still there. But is life better? Are people happier?

This is there chance to express those pent up feelings.

It doesn't matter if the Dems in Philly and Pgh turn out, they will vote anyway, guaranteed.

You could be on to something here. The sad thing is big business just part of the equation. The Quid Quo pro with Iran and China buying out the USA are above and beyond big business.

Another hand-wringing thread from the concern troll? Shocking.

Team Clinton Panics As Trump Support Surges In Pennsylvania

Two weeks ago, the Clinton campaign was confident they had locked up Pennsylvania and its 20 electoral votes.

Last week that confidence was lessened somewhat as Trump saw a solid bump in polling data.

Today that confidence has all but vanished, replaced with panic as Donald Trump is now within striking distance to do what no Republican presidential candidate has done since 1988 – win Pennsylvania.

Today’s most recent polling data from Axiom Strategies shows Clinton with a narrow lead of just 2 points over Trump in Pennsylvania – within the margin of error. Last week that lead was three, and in the weeks prior, it was as high as double-digits.

With just days to go until Election Day, current momentum clearly favors Donald Trump.

New poll: Donald Trump up 5 over Hillary Clinton in Ohio

Columbus — Republican Donald Trump holds a 5-point lead over Democrat Hillary Clinton in Ohio, where her support among women is collapsing, according to a new poll released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University.

If the election were today, Trump would get 46 percent to Clinton’s 41 percent while independent Gary Johnson would pull 5 percent of the vote and Green Party candidate Jill Stein would get 2 percent, the poll found.

Perhaps they don't want their family or home to be targets?

Perhaps they don't want anyone to know that they're stupid enough to support that corrupt dusty old *****.

Even lib sites are saying she's crashing, crumbling...

Nate Silver has the race tightening up considerably in the last 2 weeks.

On October 19th is was Clinton - 85% chance of winning.

Now it's 65%.

He has Trump favored in Florida, Ohio and Nevada. All states the *****, establishment Republicans lost in 2008 and 2012.

Whether he wins or loses, Republicans have to wake up that a populist message (rather than a religious, Tea-Party message) is much easier to "sell" to middle America in purple states. And that a changing of the Republican message away from the ultra-conservative is exactly what is (and has always) needed to be done in order to capture critical states like this.

Trump has started the push, despite all his flaws. Even if he loses, the blueprint is there for a more ethical "statesman" to take his message of strong borders, tax relief, better trade deals, skepticism of globalization and open boarders, open market health care (not controlled by special interests or the federal government) and job creation in rural America and pound, pound, pound those issues to victory in 2016.

The people that vote over gun control or abortion issues are already decided. Bringing up those issues just isolates as many as it gains. It is the economic and foreign policy issues that sway independents and turn purple states red.

Trump is also leading comfortably in Nevada, as the CNN poll there shows him ahead by six points. Forty-nine percent of likely voters support Trump while only 43 percent support Clinton.
