The Rangers strategy in this game was smart. They came out trying to hit the stretch pass over and over, trying to wear out the older Penguins. Starting in the 2nd, they gradually picked up the physical play. It worked. Between that and their speed, the Pens got nothing for them. Pens look tired and slow, the Rangers look much fresher.

Surprised Igor didn't need to be medi-vac'd out.
Not having Dumo didn't help either. I was afraid after that marathon game the other night it would catch up to them. The were pretty bad in some back to back games this season and that was pretty much 2 games in 1 night. Way too many injuries for this team to overcome IMO.
Some of yinz are missing the current “small” picture now that two games are in the books..

In addition, most of you said we would get spanked at the garden and come back home with our tails between our legs!
We are confident and playing smart hockey.
If we can get one of our goalies back and possibly Rakell, if he still doesn’t think he is Batman.. .. we will take these guys!

I think they blew it when they couldnt convert at the beginning of the second. Matheson had a nightmare game scoring an own goal then getting abused to give up another. Cant complain too much because we are down to our 3rd goalie.
