After the Pats game-regardless of outcome, the Steelers need to give Herbig some work at center and let Cole get some reps at guard. If he keeps worm burning snaps, they need to make the switch.
Hopefully they have been doing that all along..After the Pats game-regardless of outcome, the Steelers need to give Herbig some work at center and let Cole get some reps at guard. If he keeps worm burning snaps, they need to make the switch.
I thought they have McCallom or McCullom from preseason on their practice squad-but as far as actual dressed guys, he’s backup guard and center. I don’t know where Spencer Anderson fits in. If Seamalu can’t go-it’ll be Herbig startingHopefully they have been doing that all along..
He is the backup center ....correct?
He wouldn't be the 1st QB drafted high that just couldn't handle the hits and ended up playing "scared" thus ruining his effectiveness. The bad part now....is that I believe he feels that way also.....that is why we are seeing his play regress this season.
Last season he was a rookie and playing on pure adrenaline, now reality is setting in for him.
Yep....you are correct. He wouldn't be the 1st QB drafted high that just couldn't handle the hits and ended up playing "scared" thus ruining his effectiveness.
I think it is simpler than that as it has been revealed that he has been playing on a bad ankle for weeks. He toughed it out pretty well. ALso explains some of the inaccuracy if you can't set your feet well. Getting him healthy and then keeping him that way with better blocking and scheme. He gets another year to prove himself.Yep....you are correct.
Its a shame...but how could the Steeler not see that being the kid shared the same practice facility as them?
AS they liked to tell us when we drafted Kenny..."we got the opportunity to watch and get to know him for the past several years"...

Or just maybe he is completely frustrated with what Tomlin is trying to pass off as an Offensive philosophy. Couple that with a bad ankle that has been reported for weeks, and this could very well be what you are seeing. The bad part now....is that I believe he feels that way also.....that is why we are seeing his play regress this season.

No, poor QB play is NOT far down on the list, it's right near the top of the list. Did you not see such plays as the one with Najee standing there wide open for an obvious 1st down pass play and Kenny just didn't throw him the ball? Kenny just doesn't either see obvious open players or can't decide to throw them the ball in time, period.I dont think either QB played terrible today, the calls were questionable and the line was horrible. We had no answer for AZs blitzes. Pickett missed some reads, but he was not the reason we lost. Dumb penalties, horrible blocking, bad snaps, defense getting run gashed, etc etc...QB play is pretty far down the list today.
You know warriors,I get what you’re saying. Believe me. But we’re kind of stuck in between a rock and a hard place here. I mean,we were giving Kenny all game to get under 200 yards and zero TD passes, pretty well for the last 2 years.I give Mitch the first two or three drive and if he doesn't produce In comes Rudy. Mason has got to be better than what we say out of Mitch Sunday.
When it comes to the issues on offense, I'd probably put 1. QB play, 2. Offensive scheme/playbook, 3. Offensive line play 4. Lacking true playmakers. Now, outside factors I'd consider factors that this team (players and coaches) don't take winning seriously and think they can win just by showing up. I don't think they put in the work necessary during the week to win consistently on Sundays. No, poor QB play is NOT far down on the list, it's right near the top of the list. Ben went down in Week 2, a while back, some how we didn't tank that season...Tomlin will now show why he is one of the top HCs in the league now. When the chips are down.......
Sounds like IR to me...What is the recovery time for tight rope ankle surgery?
![]()
Post-operative Care Following Syndesmosis with TightRope Fixation. The splint is worn for a period of 6-12 weeksduring which time you must not bear any weight on the leg. After this period, the foot is placed in a walking boot with minimal weight-bearing and gentle ankle movements.
Yep yep....... .500 BABY. We finished above .500!!!!!! Tomlin is a GOD!!!!!!!!Ben went down in Week 2, a while back, some how we didn't tank that season...
