Authorities hunt for terrorists who caused Chelsea explosion and planned to detonate second bomb

The NYPD put the city on high alert Sunday while launching an all-out search for the possible terrorist who caused a massive explosion on a Manhattan street — and had planned to detonate a second blast just four blocks away.

Cops and numerous federal agents were trolling through all available evidence — including a scrap of paper found in the second device, a pressure cooker filled with explosives and wired to a cell phone.

So it was not a lone wolf. The one article said a man dropped off a briefcase and 2 others removed the device from it later. Does not sound like just some random fruitcake pissed at the world. Why are they not releasing any descriptions?
 
Now there was a backpack with five more devices found in a backpack near a NJ train station. What a cluster this world is.

Ahmad Khan Rahami: New York bombing suspect identified in image released by police

The FBI has released details of a man they are hunting in connection with an explosion in Manhattan on Saturday and the discovery of other devices..

Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28, is originally from Afghanistan and is a naturalised American living in New Jersey.

Video shows same man near both Chelsea incident sites: Law enforcement sources

NEW YORK — Law enforcement officials have obtained surveillance videos that show a man near the site of a Saturday evening explosion in New York and the location where a pressure cooker bomb was found four blocks away, multiple local and federal law enforcement sources said.

The video shows a man dragging what has been described as a duffel bag with wheels on 23rd Street around 7:50 p.m., about 40 minutes before the explosion, according to the sources. The video shows the man near the area where the explosion happened, according to a senior law enforcement official.

Authorities are looking for more video to build a timeline of his movements Saturday evening. Surveillance shows the same man on 27th Street about 10 minutes later with the same duffel bag, leaving it where police found an unexploded pressure cooker, multiple law enforcement sources said.

After the man leaves, the video shows two men removing from the duffel bag a white garbage bag believed to contain the pressure cooker, according to a senior law enforcement official and another source familiar with the video. The men then walked away with the duffel bag

ISIS terror fears grow amid search as key suspect hunt launched

FIVE people have been detained after a bomb attack in New York while a New Jersey train station has been evacuated and a bomb went off at a charity run organised by the US marines.

And they say they all three bombing incidents at Seaside Park, Chelsea and Elizabeth are connected.

And the FBI is involved in an armed raid at an apartment in Elmora Ave in Elizabeth, New Jersey as Ahmad Khan Rahami, 28 year old male has been identified as a chief suspect.

Now the town's mayor says the raid is connected to yesterday's Chelsea bombing.

Do we really have a choice? … This is only going to get worse.”

Wanted NY/NJ bomb suspect sued his local police; they PERSECUTED him for being a Muslim

The prime suspect in the New York and New Jersey bombings sued his local police force and claimed they were persecuting him for being a Muslim.

Ahmad Rahami said in a lawsuit that cops in Elizabeth, New Jersey subjected his and his family to discrimination and 'selective enforcement' based on their religion.

The lawsuit, filed in the federal court in Newark, says that the family are from Afghanistan and are all Muslims who have owned the chicken restaurant since 2002.

Active shooter on Elizabeth Avenue in Linden, New Jersey

Police and other emergency services in New Jersey are responding to reports of an active shooter on Elizabeth Avenue in Linden in Union County, according to initial reports. There are reports of injuries.

The incident happened at around 10:45 a.m. ET on Monday when police were called for reports that someone was shooting at cars passing by in the 500 block of East Elizabeth Avenue, which is near the Linden train station.

Officers rushed to the scene and it is believed a suspect is in custody, according to initial reports. There are reports of injuries, including as many as two police officers, but there was no immediate on their conditions.
