JUST WIN MAYBE!!! Yeah Raiders pull a shocker 24-20 to the Chiefs! Now if the Steelers can just take care of business the next 5 games....they just might get to the postseason :) WOOOOHOOO!!!

I love Andy Reid he is coaching genius!!!

Wonderful, does that erase our losses to the Jets and Bucs ?

It doesn't erase it but it sure helps our playoff chances if it comes down to a Wildcard plus we still got the Chiefs in the Burgh in Week 16.

There certainly has been a rash of "good teams" playing stinkeroo games this year.

We seem to do it more often than most though...

Those Bucs and Jets teams werent as horrible as the Raiders team...Oakland was truly a one dimensional team...dead last in the run game

Denver lost to STL and Shaun Hill. SF lost at home to STL and Austin Davis.....good teams lose to teams they are heavily favored to win. Its the NFL...There will be more

That's the issue.

Every team will have one of "those games," but it has become a troubling pattern with the Steelers, to the point one almost expects them to lose, or play bad enough to lose, when firmly favored.

There's always one who MUST piss into the wind...

Pissin' in the wind, bettin' on a losing friend
Makin' the same mistakes, we swore we'd never make again
And we're pissin' in the wind, but it's blowing on all our friends
We're gonna sit and grin and tell our grandchildren

This.

To have it happen once in a while is understandable. To be 2-8 against teams with a .200 winning percentage on the road is a trend. Makes me want to "loose" my mind.

It's more than just the losses. The slow starts, sudden complete ineptness, and wasted TOs because they (for example) couldn't get their **** together during the TV TO, or during the TO they called right ******* before the current TO!
Every team loses games they shouldn't mainly because things didn't break their way. You can't control that. I get the feeling watching the Steelers they are losing or playing poorly because of things they can control.

You don't piss in the wind,
you don't fool with the ol' Lone Ranger
and you don't mess around with Jim

"Back to the hits on 1300 AM, WWTF. I'm your DJ, Steelerfan....your sinsei in the dojo of fun, your seargeant in the army of zaniness. Now here's another hit from 1972..."

NO, but also doesn't erase the win over the crappy **** either !!! 1/2 empty for you, 1/2 FULL for me !!!!

Salute the nation

LOL knew this thread was coming.

I feel SO much better about the Steelers ineptitude after the Raiders won last night. We will just point to this game and say "see everyone else loses to scrubs too!"

And the usual suspect ballchinians will be all too happy to nod their heads vigorously in agreement

Yup. Mediocrity is king. "Told you we're not awful. We're AVERAGE!!" *pops the cork*

Or, we get "See - WE'RE JUST AS GOOD AS THE BRONCOS!!!!"

Hasn't that 2-8 narrative already been proven to be false?

It doesnt take away those ugly losses from our record, but hopefully you chicken littles understand that any good team can lose to a bad team. Its called- Parity.

"Bu bu bu but we should have never lost! Good teams NEVER lose to bad teams!"

There are maybe 2 or 3 great teams in the league that will demolish any bad team on any given Sunday. We arent there, quite yet.

.

Except nobody is making that claim.

It's the frequency in which the Steelers have struggled against underdog opponents in recent years that has many fans frustrated.

There is something seriously wrong with how the Steelers mentally approach these games, and it has been such a persistent problem that it has become very difficult to rationally insulate the head coach from much of the responsibility for it.

Dating back to 2012, the correct record is 2-7, which includes home games. That doesn't include losses to the 4-8 Chargers (on a four-game losing streak) and 2-4 Raiders.
