Pittsburgh NOT the only team to loose to BAD teams

if a team, when we face them, has a losing record, we are simply not allowed to lose to them.
else the sky falls and SN Elite get menstrual.

2012 Oakland (4-12)
2012 Tennessee (6-10)
2012 Cleveland (5-11)
2013 Minnesota (5-10-1)
2013 Oakland (4-12)

The average final record of the teams prior to this season was 5-11. The teams we've lost to this year:

2014 Tampa Bay (2-8)
2014 N.Y. Jets (2-8)

A losing record would be below .500, not .200
so is below .200 a winning record?
geez, your desire to nitpick every post of mine is ... well, I'd say it's ridiculous, but you'd determine it to be a whiny diatribe.

Of course not. Just helping you understand the discussion. And keep it from being derailed into "Hey, some of those teams may have been 2-3 when we played them, but they were actually pretty good!"

Follow along: A .200 win percentage is way, way below simply a "losing record." I'm available for tutoring on these and other in-depth, analytical topics.

Right now I'm preparing five (5) separate posts TO YOU that I'm going to fire off consecutively over a one-day span. Each a sillier and more desperate attempt to coax a response FROM YOU.

I'll do this frequently over a ten-year span, on two separate boards.

but you'd determine it to be a whiny diatribe designed to beg Idioteque for responses.

Most of your posts are.

I'm just trying to figure out how the hell there are so many people in this world who grow well into adulthood and still do not know the difference between "lose" and "loose".. I honestly think this is my #1 spelling/grammar pet peeve. Get it the **** together

Hooray!....................

The problem is we get pages and pages of how "other teams don't lose games like this". Then another team DOES lose a game like this, and we get the whole "well, does that make OUR record any better". Uh, no, but if we can't use other teams when we lose, saying other teams don't lose, that's fine, but that's not what happens.

Does this team have a problem with playing to the level of their competition, yes, they do, and they have every since I've been watching them, in the 80's it's because we usually were trying to win with a field goal, because 3 yards and a cloud of dust was the offense. For a brief moment in the 90's we had a pass heavy shotgun offense under, I believe it was Ron Airhart? Then we went back to run run pass punt for several years before Ben got here. We tried to be a little more pass heavy with Tommy gun, but he became interception prone when we did, so it was back to ground n pound. You don't typically blow a lot of teams out with run run pass punt, and praying for every field goal as your offense, and a great defense as your best friend.

We still have a problem playing down to competition

And I actually advised my friend who has $3,500+ on the line in a survivor league NOT to pick Kansas City this week because I do not trust them and I do not trust road divisional games

In my opinion, Kansas City is not a team for which we should have expectations of winning every winnable game, because Alex Smith is not a QB you expect to maximize all the prime years of his career to make Super Bowl runs.

It's really not about "playing down to competition" it's about when these bad teams want to have their Super Bowl, and since we're the Steelers and usually play these bad teams on national tv, their Super Bowl is against us. It's always tough after we just played good teams and giving it our all to play a bad team the next week and playing them like it's a Super Bowl all over again. Guys just tire out and that's what you're seeing this year. The Steelers are still as good as anyone.

It's more than just the losses. The slow starts, sudden complete ineptness, and wasted TOs because they (for example) couldn't get their **** together during the TV TO, or during the TO they called right ******* before the current TO!Every team loses games they shouldn't mainly because things didn't break their way. You can't control that. I get the feeling watching the Steelers they are losing or playing poorly because of things they can control.

Those are usually on Ben......its not on coaching if he suddenly gets amnesia and forgets the play called or cant hit the broad side of a barn in the opening quarter. In the Texans game, the Ravens game and this Tenn game it took the defense (with splash plays) to spark the team and eventually the offense responded (fed off of it). If our offense is clickin all game, no one has ****** with us.

One-game instances vs. eight-year trends

It started with Bill Cowher........he lost to expansion teams (Jax AND HOU) as well as suck *** Raider teams.......Houston was a home loss 24-6. Include it ALL ......

If the Steelers record wasnt over .500 either when we played these teams what is the uproar about? Like for instance the Minnesota loss we we hadnt won a game yet. We werent a good team either.

That's how you shut up a idiot.

Harsh words from the boy wonder who posted this:

We lose to so many **** teams because we get tired, that's all. Tired from playing GOOD teams and giving it our all.

Oh my God. Do you have a blog or a newsletter or anything? I would truly and honestly send you a check every month to get access to that.

Sorry, that has what to do with Mike Tomlin?

Are you saying that the ghosts of Jim Miller and Tommy Maddox cause us to consistently lose these games in 2014?

Or is it the Rooneys... ? I'm not following here.

he's saying it's a trend that happens to every coach. it happened last nite to Andy Reid. It happend to John Fox when they lost to the Rams. It happened to Harbaugh when he lost to the Rams AND Chicago.

No one is saying it should happen, but we are realistic about the ... as someone noted previously ... parity ... of the league.

losing to **** teams isn't something new that Tomlin has copyrighted and trademarked.

the '73 Dolphins lost to the 4-10 Colts a season removed from going undefeated.

it happens to every coach.
