Going in this game I thought to myself, why have the Steelers lost so often to Denver? One theory is Denver has the best home-field advantage in the NFL. Not only is it a long travel for most teams, but Denver is used to the thin air. Other teams are not. Thankfully the game this weekend is in Pittsburgh.
Denver holds the all-time series lead 20-11-1. They are one of the few teams that gave winning records over the Steelers since the AFL-NFL meger.
On paper, the Steelers are the better team in 2020.
Although Lock only has six NFL starts, he was won 4 of them, throwing 8 td's and 3 int's. The Steelers defense needs to be ready as Denver has an emerging group of playmakers. The soft underneath coverage needs to be better. And Nelson needs to get back on his game.
On offense, I liked what I saw out of Snell. I'd like to see the Steelers use Claypool a bit more on deep routes, but with two new starters on OL, one being a rookie, the other hardly playing much in his three-year tenure, I'm expecting a more conservative game plan.
I see a tight game. Boswell needs to be better.
