Pregame Green Bay vs Steelers

New here. Been lurking for a while now.

Anyhow.... no one has mentioned that if the Packers win it will be a first for them in Pittsburgh since 1970. I'm feeling good about this game.

It’s also worth mentioning that since 1970, Packers have only played here (can’t remember the exact number) less than 5 times.

Like most “stats of the past”, they really don’t mean much.

Salute the nation

Lock it in

I love these tweets, since the final comp pick equation cant be finalized until after the season since it includes total snap counts and awards and how tgey stack up to the rest of the league

All that is locked in is how much he could earn this year. We should get a 4th for him but weird stuff could still happen.

Too true. Before they can even think about compensation for Fields, they have to work out how to finagle a third rounder and two higher fourth rounders to Baltimore.

All I know is that there has been some tremendously bad football games played this weekend. With the exception of the Wake Forest game, every game that I have had access to was a flipping blowout. The only close game in the NFL today was the Bungles and the Jets.

So expect a nail-biting game tonight that will keep us up past midnight in which the outcome is uncertain.

****!

You obviously need to watch Bama with me...

Green Bay is a much better team than the Steelers, especially defensively. They're balanced. #14 in total offense, #12 in yards per play. Pittsburgh is #25 and #16. Their defense, while #6 overall, is #1 in YPA allowed (5.8) and #4 in rushing average against (3.5). Our favorite team, conversely, is #31 (7.1) and #20 (4.4) in those important defensive categories. And the Packers have played some good offensive teams like Detroit, Washington, and Dallas.

Should be a relatively easy road win for the Pack, by 7 points or more.
I'm not so sure about that. Whilst the Packers are a very good team and favourites, I don't think they are the type of team that usually blows the Steelers out in the regular season. Steelers big losses usually come against teams with an elite running back (Henry, Barkley) or quarterback (Mahomes, Brady, Allen) or occasionally against **** teams they are expected to beat. Against good teams without an elite factor on offense the Steelers generally win or go down by a narrow margin.

If it was first week of the playoffs (hypothetically speaking), then I would agree, easy win to the Packers.

Always fun to visit The Burgh. Great food and people. I want to clarify this next statement by saying I had already made up my mind in the 2 hours prior to kickoff so it’s honestly not sour grapes….. this was by far the worst visiting fan base in my 6 visits here and that includes the armpit of civilization Browns. Talk about just ignorant foul mouthed dicks. I was embarrassed to be there tonight and have to listen to such douchers act like that.

You more sure now?

Holy **** this team is pathetic. Just wow.

Go pack go nice and loud on tv. That's a first. This whole thing needs an enema.
Why would a Steelers fan want to go see this product? You can get nice coin for selling the tickets, and won't have to spend concession money and fight traffic to watch this garbage.

I get it.

I agree. I'd sell them to any sucker willing to overpay.

This is a classic Tomlin rebound game. 10 days to prepare after a bad loss, at home on SNF, NFC team with a QB who holds the ball a long time. Throw in that it’s the biggest game for ARod in years and I’d say it’s a must win.

If they lose this and the D looks bad again, I think the bottom falls out.

Welp. At 16-7 I thought I was a genius. Then halftime happened.

This defense is terrible and it’s not fixable. They’re just too old and slow.

This may be true but for context
Green Bay has 1 quality win against the lions. Arguably good win against the Flacco led Bengals, thats it.
They have a better defense than offense, the offense is Josh Jacobs. Stop him you win. Steelers may stop him as he is dealing with a calf injury.
They lost to the Browns, Tied the cowboys, and beat the Commanders, Cardinals and Bengals. All trash teams without a QB, RB and bad defenses.
Not a chance Rodgers loses this one, Hope he goes rogue if the play calling sucks.

They did and lost by two scores. It’s not 1993 anymore, you need to stop the pass and the Steelers cannot.

Unfortunately, Tomlin thinks it is.

Steelers season ticket holders are older and tend to skip late night home games these days... its been trending that way for a while, but the difference is that local younger fans are less interested in live games so the tickets arent going to locals anymore

The rules of engagement changed. You can't kill the guy going over rhe middle anymore. So the Steelers just don't cover him.

They have corners playing 10 yards off a lot of times, certainly with Porter. That turns into massive yards after the catch because they tackle like trash.

People are going to blame age on the D collapse, but that isnt it.
The failures are with Tomlin and Austins scheme.
Its failing exactly like Austins year 3 detroit abd his Cinci D failed. Tomlins 3rd down package never changes, so that isnt helping

The Packers fans have traveled well to Pittsburgh before but the chance to see Rodgers made a huge difference. Not the biggest takeover, though. That probably goes to the 49ers in 2023, the Packers just had a very loud (and corny) chant.

They haven't been good against the pass in forever, they use to have a pass rush. In other news Myles Garret had 5 sacks yesterday.
The whole thing is a Joke
Fields, Love and Flacco had career days against this defense this year. Best performances of the season for all 3 guys.
We have to expect this from the Defense by now. Thats why Rodgers needs all the weapons he can get, trading away Pickens is looking like Career suicide for Pittsburgh Coaches and front office.
They should have seen all this coming.
Most of us did.

Stop Jacobs we win. Love and the passing game isn't anything to lose sleep over, even with our defense.
Jacobs had 33 yards on 13 carries. Love had 360 yards passing with 3 touchdowns and 0 INTs.

You couldn't have been more wrong. Now you say you saw it coming? This guy.
