Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

I mean Id rather have Sanders and the circus act he will bring with him rather than a first round Milroe, who we will just use as a rb and never develop
I would rather not have either one. If I was forced to take one or the other, It would be ANYONE except for an Alabama player.

I would expect that WR combine 40 times are crushed by how fast the Steelers would get to the podium.

The Steelers have paid a retainer to keep the LS 10 sitting. Idling, ready for the dart to the podium. Can’t get any faster than that…………………..

I’ve got Coolie on standby, in case we need a drunk, ****-ed up driver that can’t operate a manual transmission…….

The “dart” to the podium
Is that a premonition?

Reminds me of the old Dodge Dart, a lot of dodging that young man will need to do behind a Pat Meyer OL.

That’s what I’ll have to call Jaxson if he’s drafted “Dodge”

Really? I think Milroe would be perfect for a simple play-action, one read, run heavy offense. Pair him with Kaleb Johnson or Quinshon Judkins and this would be a great draft.

Milroe has a huge arm, is really athletic and has issues reading Ds quickly and throwing with accuracy. While there are guys who have been able to be fixed with years of coaching, typically that is the recipe for a draft bust. The theory is big armed athletic QBs dont really develop enough as a passer in college because of their running ability, then often fall back on that too much early in their careers to flesh out the more important throwing side..

To be fair, the guys who have gotten over inaccuracy issues once getting to the NFL werent as raw as Milroe will be... Allen had some fundamentals in place, as did Lamar... and it still took Lamar like 5 years to develop enough for the ratbirds to move away from that goofy simplified O they were running for him.. Hurts had inaccuracy problems he overcame, but his coaching staff and systemwere light years ahead of ours...

I dont doubt someone could mold Milroe into something, but I absolutely doubt we will...

Sanders is a pocket thrower already... id be concerned about his pocket presence early... but he is accurate and has the fundamentals of a pro passer down..

Sanders is definitely more polished, but I fear the same thing I do with Dart — they both live on the edge and don’t have live enough arms to fit those balls in tight windows in the NFL.

Re: Milroe, he completed over 64% of his passes at Alabama, two other guys who were dinged for accuracy issues leading up to the draft were Josh Allen (56%) and Lamar Jackson (57%), this issue can be fixed and Milroe is already working with a private QB coach. Guessing people around the league are buying into it because he’s shooting up the boards.

I wouldn't mind Milroe later in the draft.

But he seems like too much of a project to take in the 1st.

I know it worked for Jackson. But I'd rather not depend so much on survivorship bias to feel like it was a good pick in the 1st.

I think this is a good example of why this isn't the right year to draft a QB. With no 2nd rounder, we're really hamstrung with what we can do IMO. If we take a big swing on a project like this, we need to overdraft him (maybe always true with QBs). But then we wait another almost 70 picks to get another player.

A crazy thought just came to me. Could the Steelers intentionally ne working with Rodgers to delay the announcement until after the draft to keep teams guessing on what they are doing, all the while knowing they have him already?

Except he would be in a Tomlin offense.

Yep. That is it. BINGO. History says you are correct to boot.

This time of year, anything goes. It's all a smokescreen until the pick is made to try and throw off other teams. Even attending or not attending draft events and talking to specific players can be all for show to throw other teams off their true intent. The one area that seems to be somewhat reliable with the Steelers is their pre-draft visits. It seems like their picks are often people they also had in to visit. You can also pencil in Tomlin getting his way to draft a lightning fast 5'9 receiver or reach early on an athletic project CB as well.

Regarding Rodgers, I'd bet it's a done deal and has been since around the start of free agency (especially since before Wilson signed with the Giants). The only people upset there hasn't been an announcement yet are some fans, the bloggers and football "experts" on ESPN.

Milroe is too raw, ,poor mechanics, the only thing is a proper system built just for him, and a smart QB coach and oc, he could be pushed to his potential which could be Lamar. I see at best Fields

Jalen Milroe may have athleticism but he is the least talented quarterback that's projected to be drafted of the last 5 years.

I don't think Rodgers status with the team changes anything in terms of the draft.

I think we're low balling him because there aren't other legit options for him to go to.

I guess we'll find out if / when he signs.

No.

If he really wanted to play for the Steelers, this would have been done by now. It's just getting ridiculous and embarrassing at this point.

At first, I liked the idea of bringing him in, but now, if the Steelers had any self respect, they would tell him to **** off.

I'm all for going with Rudolph this year, for better or worse, with hopefully better QB options next year.

As I can clearly read your question of post, I am amidst a time dimension never seen before by modern man kind.

I have full sound mind and my Clairvoyance is in tact but due to the dimension, I cannot respond in terms that the underlings here can decipher and understand.

My airplane has been fully fueled with this dimension fuel so better performance will be inherent to the ability of the pilot. Translated, ONLY I will have the skills needed to fly it, your lessons and joy-stick riding will be put on delay until the effects of said gasoline wear off.

Keep faith, always have a flare gun ready, know you are considered worthy.

you don’t think we are a bit more agressive in drafting a QB if he isn’t coming? And to that fact if he isn’t signed and someone wants a QB they be more motivated to make a move over us to get one? I think his status absolutely impacts the draft in multiple ways. Either way we likely draft a QB but it could impact where we draft one.
