Report: Aaron Rodgers Is At Steelers Facility On Friday

From the cheap seats it looks like billionaire Rooney and Popular Tomlin are being held by the b@lls by unstable minded Roger's.

Who's the smartest person in the room?

I guess we'll disagree, which is fine, because our opinions don't mean squat anyway.
Tomlins tenure has grown stale to the point that most of us don't expect much from this team, which sucks from a fan standpoint going into each season knowing the results will be the same. One of the great aspects of being a fan is hope, and that's been lost for a while now.
I am just eternally optimistic. I see the detractor's side I can't even argue with all of it but it is no longer fun for me if I don't keep belief we can win. I would love nothing more than a miracle season where A Aron or Mason or Howard take us to the show and win. My heart says A Aron could be Denver Manning for a year and make one last run with a revamped O and D line to steady the ship on both sides.

I hope you're right, but my money would be on the pigeons being safe on the field.

Serious question.

Do you think the NFL, in both Coach Noll and Coach Cowher's era was different???
Somewhat. Rules and philosophies evolve.
Every year someone is going to be first and someone is going to be last but somehow the Pats****** were on top for the longest time and now KC, yet the Steelers are always mid-pack.

Apparently Tomlin might have had Author Smith scale back his offense last season. Who would have ever thought that was the case. I am skocked honestly. No worries though. This season Smith might be able to open it up fully. Can't wait!!!!!

Apparently, Coach Tomlin is a GREAT coach.

Why was A.Smith held back to begin with?

It has been shown that the scheme is weak as hellA, and the HC is stupidly stubborn.

That article is from the Home Page here at STEELERNATION.COM. Thanks for posting it stillwright, appreciate yaz.

Salute the nation

Talking heads for years were saying we had SB caliber defense. Then the playoffs would around and we would give up 40 plus.
The "talking heads" still spout nonsense with regularity about our D and such, running game. It's like the media doesn't even bother to look at our stats. "Mike Tomlin and that Steeler defense..." As if it's awesome. Thankfully the Ravens only hung 28 on us last game we played, it could have been much worse. As a matter of fact, Pgh last 5 playoff games, the defense gave up 38+ points a game. Is Tomlin gonna brag about that? He got any fancy quips about that? That is straight up horrid defense. That's the last 5 defenses in the playoffs. The 45 and 48 points given up were brought to us such offensive juggernauts by teams such as he Jags and Browns.

Like I said elsewhere, to understand what they're doing you gotta think short-term and then it all makes sense.
If they think that they can win 8 games with Mason (not an unreasonable expectation) but A-Aron will get them 9 or 10 wins and keep the streak alive, then they'll do whatever they can to sign him.
Yes... but this actually started as Dan Rooney phased out... Dan really was the heart of the steelers winning... because he was all about long term... build through the draft, but develop guys so there is always a replacement waiting in the wings

AR2 took over in 03, but Dan still assisted with day to day stuff as needed and big decisions for several years... During Dan's run, when a guy left, he was gone... replaced by a younger guy they developed... under AR2, they brought back many a free agent who left for greener pastures for a second stint here... it really signaled the deemphasis on development...

So for instance, a guy like Trice... he would have likely been penciled in as a starter in the old regime.. it may have worked or not, but we wouldn't have been cycling through the ancient vet of the season at CB ... or that year we brought in Trubisky over Rudolph that wouldn't have happened... because Dan understood that you win when you have cheap young stars supplementing your expensive stars... the way you find cheap young talent is by developing guys and giving them a shot and living through the growing pains...

We are back to Art Sr's era of looking for retreads

... didnt work then... isnt working now

I agree with this. We went from developing guys to trying to buy a team. We are lacking continuity and team chemistry

Hope and change. Got to build back better, and make the Steelers great again.

Problem there is Tomlin constantly hand-cuffs the offense, he did it with Ben too, he'll do it with Rodgers as well. I won't even get started on what happens to his defenses.

I used to be the same way, optimistic every year could be our year, but the more I've watched Tomlin the more and more you can see his shortcomings and warts, and they are plenty.
