Report of Ben’s last Season

With BEN ROETHLISBERGER comes debate on the negative side, haven't you watched anything Media generated in the last forever in his career. He has been conveinently over looked not only for league MVP but also Super Bowl MVP. Most under-rated QB in league history.

No, I really haven't. I don't make it a point to watch sports talk shows. I only listen to local talk radio.

What do you suppose is behind all the alleged anti-Ben sentiment?

Excuse me,................... how many Super Bowls has philip got, how many has he appeared in ?

Salute the nation
Zero.
I saw that ranking somewhere, and it was based on statistics only.

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl too, but he was a bum.
Dan Marino was on that list, one of the best that never won the big one.

Yeah I am not a Tomlin defender, as I've stated.

Yep. I won't address all the ignorant comments on here, just yours. I will say that all the nuthuggers are gushing today as if Ben beat the 85 Bears. The defense won the game last night, that and Jackson lost it. 7 sacks 3 for Wormley.... The Ravens went searching local area high schools for DBs as they didn't have any left. Yet Ben still managed to throw a pick to those bums that was turned over luckily. He made a great throw that DJ dropped for a TD. And you are going to have that with washed QBs, they'll have a great moment then a bunch of crappy ones. I am not a Ben hater as most of the low IQ sycophants here believe. He is what he is...again I don't kid myself. They will probably beat the Vikings then hit the skids from there on out. And everyone who is praising Ben right now for a pedestrian performance , will when he plays terrible toward the end of the schedule......of course blame the OC or Tomlin. That's what clueless, delusional, nuthuggers do. LoL..
Yep, Ben is what he is at this point. Our best option at QB by far. He isn't the Ben of a few years ago but he is still our best option at QB. So half the board will agree with my assessment of Ben and the other half say he is ****. His stats put in at the middle of the pack. Twenty-five other QB's have thrown more INT's than Ben. He is doing what he needs to do. Not make mistakes and let our Defense make plays. He has been keeping his end of the bargain. Hopefully, our D steps up their end a bit more and becomes more consistent. It is what it is.

Really? Are you for real?

Really? Are you for real?
Yes and yes.
The only thing that comes to mind for all this anti-Ben sentiment is because of the alleged rape accusations by a couple of gold diggers.
But that was eons ago.

The question is are those people for real?

Lol.....I really must repeat your quotes. “ The only thing Terry has is those 4 rings.” Lol. Is that all?

“A guy who has made Terry Bradshaw look like one of HUNDREDS of Browns QBs over the last decade. “ lol. HUNDREDS.

I have been on this board for a long time. These two quotes might go down as the most idiotic I have read.
In fact,I’m sure you’re quite proud of them. Perhaps as stickies under your wig handle would be a good place for them.

While I am quite sure Big Ben is one of the few QB’s in today’s NFL that would have thrived in TB’s era, comparing the two is just apples and oranges. It’s just a different game. Is it not enough that we have two legendary first Ballet HOF QB’s? By the way. Terry had a gun for an arm. He might not have done so bad himself in today’s NFL.

You seem to love to single out posters if they have the audacity to criticize Big Ben. Haters. You gleefully go on and on and on like a little child. Now wanting to rub any Of your haters nose in it when he has a good game. We are all Steelers fans. We all want them to win. Knocking down Terry Bradshaw’s achievements is just a joke. But I guess all he’s got “ is four rings”
There may have been some hyperbole involved.
I like Terry Bradshaw. I believe he may be the greatest big-game QB in the history of the game. He was NOT the best every-game QB in the history of the game, but neither is Ben. You are right. I ought not tear down a legend to make a point because I'm irritated. Point taken.

But believe me. I've made WAY more stupid posts than those. It wouldn't be hard at all to find something I've posted that is far far dumber. Don't underestimate me!

Ben is NO trent dilffer.

Ben is better than dan marino.

Of course. Agree on both counts.
Not sure why you had to mention that tho.

Another comment on the negative narrative on Ben.

After Millegville BEN did everything asked and needed of him to turn his life style around. He took guidence from several respectable sources including his minister / Dan Rooney / Coach Cowher. He did the 180 and changed and has also led a very "clean" life since. YET many don't forget or forgive his past discretion(s).

Rayray slabiN stabiM Lewis is totally forgiven, others as well........but NOT Ben,...... why is that ? What about the Huston QB with the 25-30 alligations against him, seems he gets less negative than Ben, why is that ?

Stewey, it's just disappointing how much is hung on BEN and no one else is accountable.

Thanks for all your great post(s) and humor along the way

Ben has never been voted the team MVP by his teammates. That is an incredible stat.

He is one of the top 15 or 20 QBs of all time. Great player and a guy who won't fully be appreciated until he is gone.

Ben can still play. He might even be able to play next year. He certainly didn't cliff like Eli and he is better than Rivers. Problem is the oline and coaches just are not good enough to require his services.

Tain't that the truth.

Invest heavily in OL immeadiate starting help, not projects.

You do realize he (BEN) excluded himself so others could get thatn honor, right? Ben would have won that reward many times had he not done so.

Why do you think his entire career he has always shouldered poor playand has NEVER thrown anyone under the bus....................

Show me a source where he has excluded himself. Hasn't happened according to Madden.

Thank you for that fair and reasonable assessment. You are saying exactly what I am and that stirs people up while they criticize every other player and read criticism of every other player with no problem. It's as if they hold onto Ben with the idea that we are going somewhere with him at QB. They can't seem to grasp that we are going nowhere this year, if he comes back for a couple more years , or he retires and we have 10 years of bad QB play.....either way we are getting nowhere.

Now if you talk Rodgers or Wilson then you are actually saying something.

I just don't want to take another aging QB who's going to fall off the same cliff in a couple years. I would rather spend time and energy building the core of the team and biding my time until I can find another franchise QB.

Sure, I do all I can to draft a decent guy, maybe even sign a vet who can be productive as long as I don't have to trade draft picks or leverage a bunch of cap for a guy who may be useful for one or two years at best. That's really where I'm coming from. You simply can't "sign" a guy as talented as Roethlisberger. It doesn't happen. (And yes, I understand and agree that the Roethlisberger of today isn't the Roethlisberger of even 3 years ago. That's my entire point, actually.)

10 years of bad qb play. You are either crazy or a little kid that can't remember what it is like to not have a franchise qb.

Now if you just say Ben isn't as good as he once was, or something along those lines almost everyone would agree with you.
But you jump the shark and say we have not had good qb play in 10 years.

I'm saying those lamenting when Ben is gone and reminding everyone that it won't look good ahead are using it as the "heretic" dog-whistle for anyone who criticizes him. And can't grasp that there is no difference between now, and 10 years from now. I'm talking about now with Ben and the future with average QBs...either way it's a ticket to nowhere. Fools gold...errrr....fools black& gold.
