Yesterday was a rough day all around for the Pittsburgh Steelers. On top of taking the loss, by the end of the game three separate injuries had compiled across the team. Nose tackle Tyson Alualu‘s season came to an end due to an ankle fracture, TJ Watt was forced out of the game with a groin injury, and Diontae Johnson was injured on the last play of the game. Luckily, Watt and Johnson’s injuries both weren’t major per reports:

#Steelers WR Diontae Johnson did not suffer a serious injury yesterday, source says. His status for Sunday vs. the #Bengals is TBD but it’s not a long-term injury.

#Steelers LB TJ Watt, knocked out with a groin injury, has a chance to play this Sunday, I’m told. A good sign that — regardless of if he plays or not — it’s not a major injury.

This is huge news for the team. They went into Sunday down two defensive center pieces in Devin Bush and Joe Haden, both dealing with groin injuries as well, as well as having Stephon Tuitt and Zach Banner on the short term IR. Not ideal to say the least.

Watt and Johnson’s injuries not being long term is great news for the team, and hopefully they can be back sooner rather than later. The same goes for Bush and Haden, who was a game time decision. If the team can get all of these guys back soon, they can start working to put yesterday’s loss behind them, working out the kinks, and get back on a winning track starting with next week.

Good news indeed. I just hope WATT's groin isn't an ongoing battle and continously miss time.

Thanks for the article Sean

Too many defensive injuries and a poor offensive performance.

This team needs to wake up and realize that they have to fight like a junkyard dog in EVERY game to have a chance.

Starts this week with the Bengals. Not going to be easy.

Need Haden back. I saw enough of ****** Pierre out there on Sunday. This is what life before Haden looked like at DB.
