Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

I seriously disagree with some of that. Quite a few of those nopes should be maybes at worst. CB, ILB and DL could be well on their way to being there on defense. On offense I think RB and TE may well get there and possibly line over the next couple years. They won't all get there but we have made good investments in all of them. TE, ILB and CB may be there this year.
I live in a black and white world, it's either good enough or it isn't. I don't have time for wishy washy "maybe's", man! ;)

You stated you didn't cherry pick stats. I simply compared Harris who everyone complained the reason he got 1000 yards was because of the number of carries. Everyone referred to his 4 yard average.

Rodgers threw a high number of times. His yards per pass was among the lowest of lows last season.

I personally thought it was a good comparison.

Sometimes cherry picking is delicious.😋 🤪
Rodgers had a 6.67 YPA last year. Patrick Mahomes' YPA was 6.76, also "among the lowest of the low." So was Bo Nix's, which was actually even lower than AR at 6.66.

Mahomes was 6th in the league MVP vote. Nix was 3rd for offensive rookie of the year. Rodgers played for the Jets. People cherry-pick stats, but they shouldn't be interpreted in a vacuum.

It can be argued, it may be very hard to do it, but you can if you want.
I don't want, because it would be ludicrous.
My question for you is this. HYPOTHETICALLY, if Rodgers gets you pick 20 in the 26 Draft, and Rudolph gets you pick 12, going forward what is better for the team?
I think that the last time the Steelers had a pick at #12 or lower, they pissed it (and more draft capital, in fact) away on Devin Bush. Was that better for the team?
Keep in mind these things
MANY say that neither is the answer going forward
The Money spent on Rodgers could go to other needs or carried forward to help next years cap
Obviously, neither a guy who will turn 42 in December nor a guy with a career passer rating below 85 who turns 30 in July is the answer going forward.

However, Rodgers at a very reasonable price was the most viable answer for THIS season. You can either complain about it, or sit back and try to enjoy whatever happiness he can provide.

Schlereth saying everyone is underestimating Rodgers by a ton...I agree.

I just cherry picked a stat. Nothing more...nothing less.

All awards are a joke anymore. Add the MVP award in with pro bowls and all pros.

Those voted upon fan awards are just a gimmick to entice the fans for hands on. The fan vote counts for nothing.

The accolades of past that use to have meaning, no longer do. The Rog determines the outcome. Even the player vote counts very little, don’t fool yourself into thinking otherwise. (Helmet swinger is a VERY good example VS TJ Watt)

DK of DK sports did a break down by position that I really liked. He asked the question; Does the Steelers have a Superbowl level talent at these specific groups as a whole...

OL - Nope
QB - Yes
RB - Nope
WR - Nope
TE - Nope

DL - Nope
ILB - Nope
OLB - Yes
CB - Nope
Safety - Yes

That is a whole lot of "Nope", and that assessment is obviously based on last year outside of the Aaron Rogers acquirement.
The premise was good, but based on these standards I'm not sure any team has more than 4-5 position groups with Super Bowl level talent. The Steelers have won with a terrible offensive line, teams have won with no-name RBs, you don't need a star TE or WR to win, etc. Oddly enough, QB is the one position the Steelers DON'T have Super Bowl-level talent and he says they do?

I’m sure DK is basing the QB position on the Aaaa-Ron of past.

None the less, our OL should be improved though there are big questions yet to be answered.

Our DL should be vastly improved but also realize they use the dumb-***-ed 2DL slightly over 60% of the time.

You and I know ow that what it all comes down to is the scheme. If Coach Tomlin truly means there will be change, then there is a possibility.

We both also know that the degree of change will reflect the degree of possibility.

Myself, even if the Tom-Lin involves change, I realize it won’t be to a high degree of said change.

In this context that would mean never drafting players. Not a good strategy in building a team.
How do you figure that? LB room isn't up to snuff, draft or bring in a free agent who greatly improves that group, right?

If you live in black and white world and don't want a wishy washy maybe, drafting doesn't automatically improve that group. He might, and that's always the goal, but draft picks are a crap shoot, not a black and white solution.
