Roquan Smith signs with Rats, 5 yrs, $100M

i'm starting to think that Lamar's injury is a holdout. Maybe it didn't start that way but as the weeks went on, I have a feeling he started thinking more about what would happen if he did come back and suffer a serious injury. Playing a single snap this season without a long term deal was crazy. He's not a pocket passer like Cousins. He's a runner and needs to be 100% to be effective and is under far more risk to serious injury. I think he may have realized that when he was injured this year.

Ravens offense hasn't been as good without him but they still made the playoffs. I'm guessing they decided not to make the investment. OR they decided their model is to just get a new rookie running QB and ride him until his rookie deal is up then try again.

Jet's makes no football sense. They are trying to install a shanahan offense. Lamar is a terrible fit. But it would be a Jets move to go after Lamar because they have little brother syndrome, always trying to win the headlines vs the giants. In terms of football, the Jets are probably more interested in Mitch or Jimmy G.

I can see Houston going after Lamar. That franchise needs something. Sure they could just draft a QB, but Lamar is a known quantity.

Here's my darkhorse team for Lamar. Tennessee. They know Tannehill isn't the guy. They also know Willis is a project. They may feel they have a super bowl roster aside from QB. They could see Lamar as that final piece.

The only issue with the Titans is that they are 17 million over the cap and going to have to cut deep to get under… … they could go all in for Lamar I guess, but it makes more sense for them to select a QB in the first and rebuild … there are a dozen directions they might go… i have no idea what they will do…

I'd bet Henry would re-do his deal and maybe a few others. I think their plan was Tannehill this year then Willis next year, but Willis looked very far from ready. If they think Willis is a 3 or 4 year project then they may see that super bowl window closing before he's ready. Tenn strikes me as a team that is sick of being close and decides to go all in for that super bowl run.

Malik Willis is never going to be ready to be a successful starter. Never. The guy should be a backup in the CFL
