OK. So Kendrick Green was absolute garbage and Diontae blew an opportunity to make an excellent play that turned into a loss, but Mason Rudolph could have easily won this game with average play as a passer. Three times he ended drives with passes that were way off-mark. I’m convinced.

I didn't get to watch the game.

Rudolf was that bad?

****.

Who has the caption obvious photo handy!

No, he wasn't. He wasn't great, but the difference between his game today and what Ben normally gives us these days was not all that dissimilar. Missed passes, near interceptions, you know, a typical Steelers offense. Not really sure what people expected. He's a back up for a reason.

I said this in the game thread.....

Imagine being down 10 points in the second half and Mason Rudolph is your QB. smdh

I would have rather seen what Dwayne could do...
And the result would have been the same or worse. Dwayne Haskins is not more than what he is right now, and one decent half of a pre-season game against a bunch of guys sacking groceries doesn't change that.

It’s QB play and falls on Canada as well. This season is what it is

Because I watched Dwayne Haskins play. Please tell me what it is that gives you such optimism that Dwayne Haskins is in any way an NFL caliber starter, other than the WFT drafting him way too early and throwing him to the wolves. He had one decent half of football in the preseason against guys that aren't playing in the NFL. Please tell me what it is, because it can't be his play on the field to this point in his illustrious NFL career.

You 'watched' Dwayne play with the 1's how many times??? None. If he hasn't had that chance - what makes you think he can't be better than he was in Washington? His 'decent' half of football was against scrubs. I want to see him against top talent.

We never had an opportunity to see that. Until we do - you cannot discount his abilities...

Oh, I can. I watched him play in Washington with the 1's. He's just not that good. I can appreciate wanting to see him based on what we see out of Ben and Rudolph these days, but I have seen nothing that tells me it's going to be just as good, much less an improvement.

He floated cupcakes ALL game long that were nearly picked SO many times……..except when a WR was wide open. Then he threw lightning missiles for reasons.

No he really wasn't that bad. People are still hating a little too much. He played well enough to win. He was rusty in bad conditions with terrible play around him but no he wasn't close to being the problem today.

Sure, but considering Mason is only in his, what, 4th year in the league (and not a washed up old fart like Ben), and WAS drafted with the hopes that he might one day get his skill level up to be able to successfully succeed Ben, you'll have to excuse those of us whom are severely dissapointed in his play.

It would have been nice if the other players stepped up so he didn't have to be perfect(which he was far from). Aside from Harris and dare, I say McCloud we had a bunch of players underperform.

And he is none of those things. Today didn't determine that. I think expectations are way too high based on his history. If he was good enough to succeed Ben, Ben wouldn't be playing for the Steelers this year.

So here’s the thing. We just suck on O. Period. Can we put up more than 20 points from offense??? We **** the bed time and time again. The Def steps up, gives us position, and …said bed. After time the Def caves from being on the field and we end up in the **** shows we see.

The 2 min left and let’s see what happens. The offense, with BB or other sucks *** right now period.

While he missed on a few plays the play calling was putrid. Would have been nice if the players around him stepped it up a notch or two to help out(aside from Harris).

I most definitely think we can put up more points, but not with these plays and playcalling. At what point do the Steelers notice that they are handcuffing themselves?
