But that is twice in two years where I watched a game the other in person against the Bucs last September and for the last 7 minutes of the game I sat there and said how are they going to **** this up and then it appeared that they didn't and still they found a way to **** it up. They routinely won games like last night under Cowher. Probably a 1/3 or more. Unbelievable.

Really tough loss with Cowher in the house as well.

Cowher's record to hold a lead was excellent.

Cowher had Bettis who could make first downs and chew up the clock. Bell and Williams aren't quite that good and they end up throwing too much which stops the clock.

But also Cowher had an end game plan. These morons throw darts at a wall. And in the situation last night Bell was every much the Bettis. All they had to do was get a first down. You could even boot Vick off of a lead with a run pass option early in the sequence. Just one first down.

Are you out of your ******* mind?

I can see you saying that if Bell had gotten stuffed on those two 4th downs, but he didn't touch the damn ball. How many times has he driven forward for 2 yards when it looked like he was getting stuffed. The guy slides though holes I barely see, get him the ******* ball and see if he can do it or not.

This game wasn't lost because we didn't have backs who could execute, it was lost because we didn't USE those backs.

******* idiots.

Joe

Once again I shake my head at Tomlin and his coaching. we come out after the half and play really not to lose. We hadn't made third and two and fourth and two all night and Tomlin doesn't let the kicker try when the balls ends up at the same place. As far as I'm concerned the defense played their hearts out and the Tomlin lost that game. All his passive talking doesn't win games.

Can anyone honestly say that Cowher wouldn't have surpassed Tomlin's success from '07-present if he hadn't retired?

I was thinking during the game last night that Tomlin has done a great job, his players are coming around, then all of the sudden we are throwing to Sammie Coates when we needed to run the clock. We are kicking FGs when we need to go for it and then we're going for it when we should be kicking FGs

I don't want to get into Cowher vs Tomlin because they both had their downfalls. But yes, Le'Veon Bell would have been given the opportunity to ice the game with Cowher. Of that, I have no doubt

I wonder if Cowher would consider coming back if Tomlin is not resigned after his contract is up.. the game has changed since he coached last but I would welcome him back without a doubt.

Bell is the best all around RB in the league. If he gets the carry on either of those plays the Steelers win IMHO. Running Vick and having Vick throw across his body to the right side of the field were horrible calls.

No, I agree they should have ran the ball. I'm just saying that Bell and Williams aren't as good as Bettis at chewing up the clock.

Cowher didn't go with his gut, he went with the odds. I don't remember the situation exactly but Steelers had it 3rd and 4 with about 2:29 left.
Cowher would have definitely run the ball on 3rd to get to the 2 minute warning and then likely went for it on 4th if he had a question mark in
regard to the kicker.

He definitely would have punted in overtime from the 40 and relied on defense to stop a team with limited receivers.

Dude hasn't coached in 8 years. Get the **** over it already.

He makes a lot of money for a lot less work and stress on TV. I doubt he coaches again.

Its depressing to know that tomlin will be in charge of this team's roster and coaching staff for the forseeable future

After every loss there's a thread about how Cowher would have won the game. I work second shift so I just watched the game. Tomlin's in game management is ***, and I will never argue that point. Players still have to make plays. If Vick doesn't make an awful throw at the end Brown has an easy close the game out first down. If Brown doesn't drop a TD it's a different game. If grandma had a dick she'd be grandpa.

I won't get deep into the idiot kicker because if you play for your kicker to win it for you you're ****** unless you have an upper echelon kicker. We have never had one. Besides, kickers aren't even football players. It was a game they had in hand that they let get away. The notion that Cowher had better RB's is ridiculous, give your best player the ball fucktards and the Rats season is over. We need some new material around here. Cowher is gone and pining for the days when he was here isn't doing any good.

Bottom line, the players didn't execute last night. We had a 13 point lead and could not put away an inferior team. Brown had some drops, one on a high throw and one on a TD.

Play calling on 3rd & 4th and short were ******* **** if you ask me. Now they get some extra time for Vick to practice and work a rapport with the guys. I hope he targets AB more in San Diego and he better throw the long ball to Bryant in his return.

As far as the kicking goes, I think we're stuck with Scobee. $3.2 M AND a 6th round pick. Not looking good. Gonna be a bumpy ride this year.

BINGO! Run pass option was screaming to be called but nooo, not these morons. Terrible coaching and play calling. This has got to stop.

All last night did was reinforce what we already knew about Tomlin in that he is not a particularly good coach.

He's basically worthless from a strategy standpoint, and for being such a great leader, the focus and effort from his teams seem to waver quite a bit from quarter to quarter and game to game.

His teams too often either come out flat as a typical lesbian's chest, or get complacent with 10+ point leads, rarely putting together 60 minutes of good football.

Bill Cowher and Jerome Bettis were seen leaving Heinz Field at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Cowher was overheard saying to JB "MT will find a way to lose the game, he doesn't utilize his talent to their potential". Bettis nodded and responded: "Right Coach, let's eat"!
(I'm kidding)
