The Steelers have **** canned the entire QB room for the second year in a row. How is the front office not noticing the problem here?
Rooney said that he trusts what Tomlin is doing. I would think that having three different QB rooms in three straight years would scream "you don't know what you're doing", but here we are. Next year, is likely a fourth straight year of complete turnover. Even if they sign Rodgers, the chances of him playing two more years is pretty slim. Skyler isn't even guaranteed a roster spot as it is...The Steelers have **** canned the entire QB room for the second year in a row. How is the front office not noticing the problem here?

Just for ***** and giggles, 4-12 would have had us drafting 4th or 5th based on tie breakers. Our choices COULD have been Tua, Herbert, or Love from the first round. Even if we had maintained our 8-8 season, and not traded our first for Minkah, we still could have had Love in the first, or Hurts in the second. **** if you want to REALLY turn the knife, had we kept our first we could have had Jefferson in the first and Hurts in the second. (seeing as we drafted Claypool in the second, a WR was definitely in play)As I’ve posted in another thread… it’s the blind leading the blind. Incompetence at the ownership level, a HC with entirely far too much power and authority, and a GM and his assistant stuck in the middle of this mess.
Rooney and Kahn came out and were in favor of bringing Justin or Wilson back but it was pretty obvious Tomlin had other ideas.
The franchise is broken and not functioning efficiently and really has no direction.
The time to draft Ben’s successor was in the 2020 draft but no they had to keep a meaningless record in tact in 2019 going 8-8 and trade their number one pick for safety. That was the year to go 4-12 with Ben injured and draft our franchise QB.
Signing Rodgers for a year is a bandaid to try and win one damn playoff game. Lots of luck with that!
Shades can’t afford to develop players, not that he was ever good at it anyway, because it’ll put that non-losing season streak in jeopardy. As I’ve posted in another thread… it’s the blind leading the blind. To replicate the power rushing model, 1st you need an OL that is top notch; after years at failing to build 1, now what? We need Munch back. But Clown-lin feels insecure about him being here, gets too much respect from team.I don’t mind quick turnover if it’s not working, I remember sticking with guys like Bubby and Mark Malone too long. The problem is, I don’t think the current staff can develop a young QB, so this might be the new way forward for a while.
Was really hoping they signed Fields, drafted Milroe and a stud RB, and really leaned into the Philly model of power running. Probably couldn’t replicate it, but at least they’d have a clear identity other than “don’t turn the ball over”.

Maybe so, but he would have had at least a full year of sitting behind Ben and learning. But it also would have been one of the few available options had they thought about life after Ben instead of what they are doing now. Just a fun little "what if"Hurts would have absolutely busted here... the leap he made in accuracy and decision making between year 1 and year 2 were astronomical... I dont see anyone on staff at that time who wouldnt have just turned him into a dumpoff guy... and honestly a few bad throws in Tomlin probably scares any thoughts of him going downfield out of his head...
System and Teaching arent exactly our strong points here... we need a guy who already is a polished passer who can just adapt to nfl gamespeed, not a project ....
So no Nick Foles type career arc for Rudy? DAMNIT!!At least Rudy brings the continuity (he just had that little hiatus)
He has years of experience in “the system”
Went 3-0 down the stretch to save a Tomlinship from the jaws of defeat.
Zero doubt he will continue his regular season success with the Steelers en route to a 17-0 record!!!
And in this way we will finally advance past the WC round…only to get absolutely throttled in the Divisional round game that will be over 20 minutes into the game.
I’m just glad Mike Tomlin is our coach
Winning![]()

For the near term we’ll get whatever decent veterans are available.
Canaduh was the first mid-season firing of a coach since 1945 not just because he sucked but we were in genuine danger of not winning 9 games.
If you look at it through the lens of “how can we make sure we win 9 games?” then everything they do makes sense.
This will be the 5th straight season with a different starting QB on opening day. CrazyThe Steelers have **** canned the entire QB room for the second year in a row. How is the front office not noticing the problem here?
Or...maybe they DO see the problem and there cutting away the cancer before it affects the whole body???The Steelers have **** canned the entire QB room for the second year in a row. How is the front office not noticing the problem here?
Some even now don't want to see it.The part that I don't get is not the fact that Tomlin has no course of action in play, nor that Rooney doesn't see it / want to see it, etc., but that the media and fans are just now seeing it. This train wreck has been coming down the track for many years. It was easy to see.
We went into this offseason without a QB on our roster. CrazyI don’t mind quick turnover if it’s not working, I remember sticking with guys like Bubby and Mark Malone too long. The problem is, I don’t think the current staff can develop a young QB, so this might be the new way forward for a while.

Yeah 18 years of knowing who your QB was was pretty awesome. Now it's just sadThis will be the 5th straight season with a different starting QB on opening day. Crazy
