Second Year In A Row

Yeah. Let's go draft him because of his last name...

Deion Sanders was the best lockdown corner in the history of the game - should we draft Shilo Sanders at safety then???

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’ll take him in a heartbeat.
Kid has talent..
DNA don’t lie!

I keep hearing Arch Manning should be declaring for the 26 draft and we should do whatever it takes to move up to get him.
Arch is a sophomore at Texas and will be entering his first full starting season in the fall as a junior. Are we sure he will even declare for the draft in 26?
Being a Manning he will no doubt be getting plenty of advice from grandpa Archie and uncles Peyton and Eli so they may advise him to stay in school another year in 2026 and come out in 27.
I’d be surprised if he declared for the 2026 draft.

Exactly. Plus... the Manning family is NOTORIOUS in "getting their way" on selection day.

If he plays well and looks like the real deal you would have to be in the top three slots. I'm thinking his NIL money will keep him in school. Generally, teams are not trading out of that kinda pick and if they have a qb already it will be a team within three picks.

I think Rudy is a really nice option as your backup QB and spot starter. Sure if your number one goes down he can come in and give you a handful of really nice games as witnessed in 2023. To be the every game starter for 17 games I don’t think that’s what you want from Rudy. Maybe with this team he can win 8-9 games but I think that is probably the max for him.
On another note. I keep hearing Rodgers could retire. To that I say, if a guy is even contemplating retirement then I don’t want him. I don’t think he can be all in if he’s also thinking retirement. He doesn’t need the Steelers but Tomlin needs him.

Rudy has a 8-4-1 record as a starter for the Steelers, where we come from that’s called a Tomlinship (in only 13 games). He can screw around the last month with no worries…you know like a Tomlin team does after attaining the trophy.

Not sure why he’s only capable of being a spot guy, maybe he’d do better if actually given time with his receivers and the practice reps? Let’s not forget how many times Ben was taking reps only to bow out and give Mason the start with limited prep.

I see no reason to believe with more time and preparation he’d be worse than QB he has been (frequently with few reps and preparation).

I’d love to see him get a season to answer that question. I’d take that over A-arod 8 days a week.

Shades can’t afford to develop players, not that he was ever good at it anyway, because it’ll put that non-losing season streak in jeopardy.
For the near term we’ll get whatever decent veterans are available.
This is what always aggravates me, Player development and in year game management are two completely different aspects of the game. Bringing in a short term Vet option is not a bad thing if you are also able to develop their replacements during the time the short term option is on the payroll. Bringing in Wilson last year was a no brainer for a couple of reasons, but you have to make that move work by developing someone to take over for him. Tomlin fails in this area because he has neither the ability or desire to develop young players. Remember he has said publicly, "If you need us to coach you up then you are in the wrong place". Now I don't know for sure, but I have to think this is an area that spending money for extra coaches would pay off. Having 2-4 extra assistant coaches dedicated to just developing young players would mean that the other asst coaches wouldn't have to be tasked with that in addition to their other tasks.

If they do end up going with Rudolph, it would be nice to see the plan change to "do what fits his skillset, as opposed to here is how we have done it for the last 20 years and YOU need to make it work".

Agreed, if you are already thinking it is over, it already is.

Well, it's a good thing Tomlin will most likely still be here. So we'll still be talking about needing a QB in '27 as well!

We are becoming the Browns.
I posted that in a Steelers FB group too and one of the Tomlin fanbois gave me some **** about it.
"The Browns never even make the playoffs, Tomlin never has a losing season, etc., etc."
Me and another poster came back with, "Well, we've been getting new QB's every year like they do and the Browns have won a playoff game more recently than the Steelers, and the team they beat in the playoffs was us."
Crickets after that.

That's funny right there. :D :D :D

What has looked aggressive in trying to improve the last few years with moves like Queen and at the time Trubisky etc suddenly smells of desperation.

I wouldn’t say the Steelers fired their QB room. Russ, definitely. Fields left this **** show and took a payday AT THE JETS to get out of the Steelers organization. I dont even remember who the third stringer was. 😳

Allen, still possible of signing him.

Amazing for a coach that has players wanting to play for him, players that have full respect for him, still we have players leaving.?

In all my years of fandom, I don’t recall a series of years that this type of ****-show in the QB room taking place. Sure we had crappy QBs, but the empty /start from scratch / no contract rooms……………. ?

Salute the nation

That clown wants Milroe.......the worest QB in the draft. LOL!!
Cowherd (yeah, I know) says the Steelers are really high on Milroe and he expects them to draft Milroe at 1.21. I laughed. That would be such a Steelers move. Run to the podium in the 1st for a guy you could probably have in the 3rd and maybe the 4th, but it really doesn’t matter because the player isn’t great and the Steelers are incapable of developing the guy anyway. It would be the same with Dart or any other QB that might fall to the Steelers. I’ll keep taking a pessimistic view until they prove me wrong.

Been saying this for weeks, Texas will give him a bag to come back in 2026 to a great program vs. going to a terrible NFL team where he’ll be expected to be the savior after 15-18 college starts. A year out from every draft, the draftniks put together their “way too early look at next year’s draft" pieces, they’re almost always wrong at QB. Guys rise and fall and some come out of nowhere.

I think this would be the worst move of all. And I don't know the player well one way or the other then he lost at Alabama. It's just obviously an overreach commitment to an unproven player.

Milroe in the 1st would give me KFP flashbacks and I’m not ready for that PTSD
