Should the Steelers give Timmons a spot in camp?

Here you go coward: Now that you have some names, maybe you can come up with your own. Though I have some doubts. Let's see if you can anti up now.

Here is a list of my top 50 Steelers of all time since the AFL-NFL merger.
The rankings are based on three criteria. Relative performance to their peers 50%, key to winning a championship for the Steelers,30% ,and longevity on the Steelers. 20%. Players and coaches only.

Coach, that's a pretty good list. I'll look it over more closely later as right now im at work.

Missing a tackle as a 4th year pro at ILB doesn't impress me Ike. But it wasn't only that, there was also a coverage mistake that lead to an easy touchdown pass. Two major red flags in 25 snaps. While you are right its only one game, my counter is both the Patriots and the Bears cut Bostic. The Colts who are bad on Defense didn't want to retain his services either. Not this guy is the best we have?

Colbert picked him up for cheap.

If Timmons lost some speed and rage, he still might be faster than Dirty Red, plus he knows the defense, something Bostic apparently does not. I saw Timmons play last year, did you? He's still a good tackler. I think Timmons is better than some of the LB's the Steelers will be cutting, so on that basis, if he's willing to play for the veteran minimum, why not give him a chance?

Fans have anemic memories. The Steelers were gutted vs. the run in the last six games, and killed by it in the playoffs. NFL coaches know where to attack. Our offense will need to put up points, otherwise teams will attack our soft and slow middle via the run.

You are so far off, it's not even worth debating.
If you think Timmons is a better option than Bostic week 1, you have no idea what you are watching.

oh **** youre right... I forgot the steelers started at the merger.. you got me..

I said since the AFL-NFL merger since most of us were not around to watch the team in the early 1960's. If someone said Ernie Stautner as a top Steelers that would be fine s they retied his number.

At any rate, humor or the story of how Art Rooney purchased the team after a hot day at the race track in 1933 isn't going to help you any. Your top 50 Steelers list will be posted when???

Where's Ben, AB, Leveon, Pouncey, & DiCastro? Maybe you exempted active players?

Tough to leave The Rock off huh?

Where the hell is Slash?

Agree with Steve that AB definitely belongs on that list, and pretty high. Top 20 as of right now, with a very good chance of breaking into the top 10.

Sorry, Hines ...

LeVeon probably doesn't make the list because what he has created in positive has been negated by his negative(s).

Come on Coach, stop already.

Timmons is done and if he wasn't he would still be wearing that teal and white ****. Besides, we are not even gonna be playin' two inside LBers this year in most situations.

Not only don’t I listen, but I can’t see. So where is AB ?

At practice......................................... practice is where he's at.

AB should be on the list but realize the list is the opinion of the beholder. It's OK to have different opinions / list.
I'm going to look at Coach's list a little closer after supper and make my suggested changes.

Salute the nation

No i mean bring him back..... and maybe ike

I see what you did there,Nice recovery but NEITHER one will done an active roster STEELERS uniform again.

All joking aside, it's not perfect but still a pretty solid list and a lot of effort.

Salute the nation

I am all for Timmons being on

the sidelines cheering us on.

He probably still watches more game film than coach.

Give us a

S T E E L E R S

gooooo Steelers!

Some impressive names......but it’s Coach’s list. So there will be head scratchers. Lawrence ahead of his HOF DC, or his HC. This list is devalued greatly by Rocky not being listed.

Ben is on the list as he's 36 and has been here since 2004

The other players are still active, so I did not list them, but when they retire, should make the cut

I could leave coaches out, and thanks as I agree there are some impressive names on the list. Sorting out the difference between spots, especially toward the second half is near impossible.

Rocky was a good player and an even better man, but he only had one 1,000 yard season and 3,865 total rushing yards with 27 total touchdowns. A second option, Harris was the team's primary back.

Sorry, the Steelers have too many good players for him to make the cut.

go **** yourself stooge. You said top 50 steelers all time. Please shut the **** up .

Two things are clear to me.

1 ) You call a guy out, then retreat once he produces what you asked for. You're your own man, but I'm not very impressed. You failed to produce your own list, and if you did I'd show you why Timmons belongs in the top 50.

2 ) You've got some anger management issues.

As I said before I respect veterans, and if you're struggling for whatever reason, I'll understand the anger issues, and will try to avoid serving back, even if you deserve it.

I don't deal well with self serving idiots. And you really can't argue with stupidity. You said top 50 All time Steelers. Timmons don't make the cut. So you changed perameters to " since the merger" so he could. But then leaving off players such as Marvell Smith. Point is you're full of ****. I don't speak to other nation members this way. And I told you the reasons. **** your faux pity party about me being a vet. Don't pull punches. I won't. You're a TMC wanna be. I know and so do most others here. Now run along and start another thread so I can laugh.

Leaving the coaches out doesn’t change the decision to leave two of them with much higher pedigrees behind LT.

You replying thanks are unfounded. That list of names is impressive not because you picked them. 99% of knowledgeable fans would as well. They are impressive because of how many there are, even though you left out the pre-merger players. Which is ludicrous in itself. Just because you didn’t see Jack Butler or John Henry Johnson, Whizzer White, Bobby Layne and Ernie doesn’t mean they don’t belong in someone’s top 50. All of these players were significantly more impactful to the Steelers than LT. Oh, and they all are Hall of Famers as well.

Rocky was more important in achieving those 4 Lombardi’s than you can realize. His stats didn’t tell all the story. He was clutch and made some fantastic plays during his time. Swann is in the Hall, but Rocky made just as many plays when it was needed during those championships.

Lawrence was a good football for the Steelers during his time. IMO he was an excellent player when he started for Pittsburgh. An important piece to the defense before Shazier. But Father Time is undefeated. LT, if anything is a role playing backup, at this point.

Fine, add in Bryon White and Ernie Stautner to the list as they were old timers who 90% of the board saw very little if any video on.

Timmons still ranks in the top 50. Your a dumb as dog ****, miserable; piece of **** of **** low ranking fool. I won't pull any punches and judging by your sensitive side, that won't work out too well for you.

If the mods ask me to tone it down, fine. Otherwise, I'll laugh at your posts, Understand, Francis?*

Now, where is your top 50 list? Too stupid to come up with one?
