SNF

The Steelers theme this year has to be "it's better to be lucky than good".

Yesterday into the wee hours of this morning prove that out.

We had to beat Baltimore AT Baltimore, have the Jags beat Colts AND not have the Raiders and Chargers end in a tie.

OK, we survive the Ravens 16-13 but the Jags beat the crap out of the Colts HUH!

Then what happened in Vegas is something right out of a Movie script - Silver Lining Playbook the sequel.

Well I might as well keep this train rolling

Stillers and Iggles in the 2022 SuperBowl - keep the Luck going!

LOL, was in a chat room with some hard core Steelers fans on draftsteel.com who were former members of the old Steelers.com forums. A good number of them all felt like the game was fixed. We all felt a bit dirty. Several of them vowed not to buy any memorabilia from the game.

You can question whether I was a fan or not all you want. I have lived an died with the Steelers since the mid 70's and anyone who knows me will tell you that. I don't see what a game being fixed has anything to do with someone being a fan or not. I remember that season well. From the improbable win streak to put them in playoff contention to the crazy ending of the Indy game, Bettis getting his ring in his home town etc.. The team played a horrible game and still won with some questionable calls on important plays. Trust me, I defended the game plenty in different areas of the internet, mainly the Ben TD run and the no pass interference call in the endzone on the Steelers defender. I thought that the ruling on the reviews of the plays were correct but, that the calls on field were not or at the least favored the Steelers and thus affected how the reviews went. I've been here in MA watching almost 20 years of Patriots BS. Do you really think that so many Steelers games go down to the wire and giving everyone a heart attack is a coincidence? It's a script. It's their scripted identity. No way that happens naturally game to game, year in and year out. How many times does Collinsworth have to hint to everyone that, "They couldn't have scripted it any better?" If you think this stuff is legit, more power to you. Either way, I'm looking forward to at least one more Steelers game this season.

I find all of the “it’s rigged”, “it’s fixed”, “it’s scripted”, “I call bullshit” conspiracy posts too damn funny!
It was the emotion of the game...way crazy. I get caught up in that but it did seem a little off with the Chargers repeatedly making 4th and long plays. I think they mentioned 6 of them in a single game and it seemed like it was all on the same drive.

I don't think they are scripted. I think at times individual parties might be trying to influence the outcome. Refs have a lot of power. In a game that can be decided on one play it only takes one with an agenda to change an outcome. I never underestimate what money is capable of...
Here

It’s a big corporation the nfl. Money does a lot of things and can influence a lot of stuff.
The nba got caught

So the tin foil hat wearing people actually think kickers can decide to put that ball an inch one way or the other every time? Come on people, fixing an NFL game would require a skill level by kickers and wr that just defies logic. "OK, on this play we are going to have you dive and one hand this thing just barely getting your feet in bounds. On the next one, same thing, but make sure your ******* forearm touches about .2 seconds before tour left knee". Give me a ******* break.

The 4th down conversions would convince me it wasn’t fixed. How do you orchestrate three unsuccessful attempts to pick up a first down followed by a successful attempt? If it was fixed, I think it would look more like the Steelers run defense - too damn easy.

He was trying to win that’s all this games about nothing else win win win

Going for the win gave the Raiders the 5th seed vs getting the 7th seed, which leaves open the possibility they could even host the AFC championship in a long shot scenario along with avoiding the Chiefs in the 1st round. So when you have an opportunity to accomplish that with a 47 yard field goal of course you take it.
