So Bell isn't getting his 14.5 million,

Obtuse or troll, that is the question.

And Bell shouldnt try to the same??????Of course this only applies to Bell like i thought. Why should he take less if feels there is a chance on the open market to make more. Whether he is delusional or not..
Ben isn't being an idiot turning down 45 million per and then asking for 50.

And again why is he a idiot cause he wont take the steelers offer?? You know for a fact the steelers are the only team that would possibly offer a contract like that?? Because then that would make him a idiot.. but you dont know that..especially when Kurt Cousins just got 98 guaranteed

AB gets $17m/yr because he's the best, and it's the best per year rate, but it's also in line with the WR market.

This is the RB market:
https://overthecap.com/position/running-back/

Also - AB has never missed a game because of suspension, and is widely known for being the hardest working player on the team.

Apples and oranges, completely.

Other teams are paying WR's 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16m per year. So our team is not specifically at a disadvantage just because we pay our guy $17m.

But paying a RB $17 when no other team goes over $8 puts us at a disadvantage compared to other teams. We are trying to stay competitive, not top heavy.

This is why the hard cap is so frustrating because it punishes you for drafting well and developing stars. Forces you to sacrifice the rest of your roster to accommodate them.

No because he keeps changing his story, first it was he wanted to change the market for RBs well he did and would've had he signed that deal, then it was all about the guaranteed money last year, now this latest report is he's more concerned about about his per year contract amount.

I don't blame Bell at all.

The players have to look out for themselves. It would be great to think that guys will take a discount for the team but they're not fans like us. He'll get paid very well again and assuming he doesn't test positive again then someone will pay him many $$$$s because he has an incredibly impressive skill set. He just happens to be on a team that can't/won't afford him. We need to extend Ben and we can't do that, fix the D and pay everyone else.

I blame him. Nobody's asking him to take a discount. The offer last year was more than fair, easily made him the highest paid RB in the league. He's being a selfish little *****, plain and simple. And let's be honest, he hasn't been the most reliable, available player. I know it won't happen, but I really wish they'd trade him.

Cousins only got 82 guaranteed. And his average per year isn't that much higher than the next QB.

Bell can want what he wants. Just like in real estate, a house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, not what you want for it. Maybe someone will pay him $17 million. Those will be the teams with cap space to burn and the teams that pretty much have no chance to win a championship. As much as I want him on the Steelers, I hope it's not us. I hope we don't go any higher than $14 million. Even that is high in my mind. It's a business and the Steelers can't afford to pay him what he wants if they want to field a competitive team for the next several years.

Ben is on a position to help the steelers on next deal because he has made a ton of money. Just like brady is helping the Patriots. Most feel the defence nedds the most help. So again why cant the person who has made the most money be the one to take less. Instead of asking a RB with the least amount of shelf life as far as his position is concerned to not try and get all he can. Bell has one more big contract to sign.

You really like to blame Ben for everything, don't you? You've always blamed him while defending Tomlin. Now, it's somehow his fault that Bell is a greedy little *****? Ben has NOTHING to do with this conversation.

Did Ben kick your dog or something?

Brady is also married to a model who has probably made every bit as much as Brady. Right, wrong or indifferent, it certainly makes it a whole lot easier for Brady to be charitable.

Well and the cheating sacks of **** are paying him elsewhere, too.

Tell me antdrewjosh, suppose you're the GM of the PITTSBURGH STEELERS, what is your contract offer to Mr. LeVeon Bell???? Can't remember you ever committing to a said number or contract, just curious.........???

With all this back and forth the big question when the season starts will he give it is all? No practice no show up for how many games he promises, why would any other player going through all to get ready have any respect for Bell no matter how good he feels he is.

Bell is a little bit out of touch. Anyone see his tweet?

Im comfortable paying 15-17. Id rather keep the people who develop into one of the best in the business..then try to replace them and hope the next guy developes

How in the hell am i blaming Ben. Smh ben is the best QB we ever had. But if you are looking for someone to leave money on the table on this team where the **** else would you start????? The person who has made the most money. Not expect the person who position is getting shafted to do it..

I think when he shows up and the game begins, I do think he'll give it his all. For all of what I perceive as Bell's faults, I've never seen any reason to question his effort when on the field.

So an offer for $14 million a year, more than DOUBLE the second highest paid RB, is getting shafted? Give me a freakin break!

What a complete and utter crock of ****. He's been unreasonable in negotiations for the past two years. He's not interested in a fair price, he wants to set market history. He's alluded to it many times. Let some team with a 2-14 record next year give it to him.

Wrong choice of words because i definitely dont think the steelers are shafting him i meant the whole RB market thing. I think a player salary cap shouldnt be determined by his position.
