I have never been a fan of Taylor but the last two games he stinks and time to go. He not only can't tackle but coverage is a joke. I thought Cincinnati would give him a game ball for how many yards they gained on Taylor. Why we did not try to find a replacement as beginning of year is beyond me. He is backing up to a check and that seems to be OK with him as well as Tomlin. I was going to give Tomlin a thumbs up for pulling him till the announcers said he was hurt.

I thought and said it at the time that we should have replace Ike after the Denver playoff loss. I knew then he was done as a starter. If you wanted to keep him around as a backup then that would have worked but only in that role and for much less money. Stick a fork in em', he's over- done.

Oh yeah, it has to be, like steel hurt said, he was done after the Denver playoff game.

Ike's and Tebow's careers both really ended that game.

Somebody forgot to tell Ike.
Haha, never thought about it that way, so true.

we should have put McCullers at CB to jam the line. At least he'd make it difficult for AJ to leave the LOS.

Taylor was once one of the best CBs coverage wise in the league. Regardless of his lack of hands and his initial trouble with zone coverage, he is likely top 5 at the CB position all time for the Steelers, and the best we have had since Woodson... but he is 2 years past his expiration. He and troy should be proud of their accomplishments and ride off into the sunset this offseason.

as bad as Ike played Green on the long TD....shouldn't the safety have been there to help out?

You would think so Coolie. That's what I was watching for when they showed the replay. I sure hope Mitchell makes a huge improvement next year but I'm not liking what I see so far.

Damn right Coolie, where was the safety coverage on that play? I saw Mitchell coming over late and he got juked, hence the big touchdown!

My hope is that Mitchell needed a year to learn our system, but I don't really believe that... he seems to be a bad fit. He and troy bite on the same stuff all the time

looked like Troy was expecting Mitchell to be in better position on the other big gain earlier also.....like many, I thought Mitchell was a good pick up....guess it wasn't

Mitchell and Troy seem about a second late on all the big pass plays.

No worries next week with Jones and White.

Atlanta dinks and dunks a lot do to their QB. They have a top 6 yards passing O, but a middle of the pack yards per attempt despite a high completion %.

Troy was pointing to Mitchell virtually the entire play and Mitchell was running away from Green.

Geez, I hope they don't read this board and discover that we have no one capable of playing deep center.

Im sure this has been said before but Ill say it again. Ike is in great physical shape and is a work out warrior. What he isn't is fast enough or explosive enough to play corner. What about safety? Troy probably retiring, Mitchell might get cut. Its worth a try for a couple years max, no?

as much as Lebeau loves him if he tries to tell Colbert re-sign him, Colbert should show the Saints @ today's game video and if Lebeau is still persistent ask him to retire and promote Butler

It depends. Ike is still our best CB but that's Colbert's fault, not Ike's.

I'd say Gay is our best right now, and also I'd rather ride this season out with McClain. He was at least making plays when Ike went down.

Ike and our secondary were playing against some pretty good players today. Greene did a great job getting off the line with out a jam. Other than the fumble Dalton played a good game. The Bengals were held to 21 points, they lead the division, they are not hot garbage. The other team is going to make some plays in this game today, the days of the defense holding another team scoreless are gone. When a team is scoreless or really low in points scored it is more likely due to screw ups on the offense.

With all that being said our defense played a decent to good game today and had an interception taken away by Jason our multimillion dollar under achiever.

In looking at the other side of the coin Byrant made a deep touch down because the guy playing opposite him stinks? This was a well played game, few penalties. Coaching seemed to be a good chess game with plays attempting to set up others and repeated use of plays that worked till the other team was able to stop them. Ike is getting to the end of his career but getting beat from time to time by a really good receiver is not that bad. Just look at Brown and the season he has had and how hard it is for the other teams to stop him. The fact that he beats the other teams coverage does not get attributed to all of the being **** players or washed up.

I think at this point we have not choice I liked what I saw in Blake, and Gay played well. I would also like to see what B.W. Webb has, I remember coming out of college he had a good combine/sr bowl. The thing here is safety play is bad, yeah our corners are getting burnt but where is the safety help? Mitchell out right stinks, he looks so lost out there like he has never played the position before. What is the deal with Shamarko, if he can't stay healthy not being a starter then how is he gonna help us next year? Last we need pressure up front to help this back end out and the part that scares me is we have a lot of youth there and we are not getting pressure.
