So is the last go around for Taylor

solution to fixing secondary, let IKe retire or leave via fa, leave Troy decision up to him if he returns back up role and more of a LB/S role, find a vet to start or draft a S high, as far CB's go retain Blake @ sign McCain to a 2-3 year deal. Draft A cb WHITEN THE FIRST 3 ROUNDS. Cortez stuck with him but his base saleries for the first few years are modest so if he when they are to jump to starter cash can't be a dependable CB then cut him, but opening day 2015 starters should be, McCain, Allen slot re-sign Gay, re-sign Blake and see if he can play SS.

CB targets as of now draft
Trae Waynes MSU
PJ Williams FSU
Ronald Darby FSU
Alex Carter, CB, Stanford
Kevin Johnson Wake Forest
Marcus Peters, CB, Washington (I hear character concerns kicked off team but if talent as good as said, we need to take a shot on some of these type of prospects, A lot was said aboutt Bryant as well and since being drafted he has not caused any trouble just he is raw and it has taken him time to grasp the pro style offence where he is not a decoy but a legitimate target, at Clemson he was more of a run blocker and a decoy to open up things for Sammy.
Quandre Diggs

Ike's "tackles" are him being part of gang tackles, much like Ray Lewis (overinflated). How many times have we seen him get steamrolled and knocked on his *** by a ball carrier the past couple of years? It's been embarrassing.

I have never been a fan of "Tackle the Catch" defense. I understand that the chance of giving up a score is less this way, but making a game changing play is also much less likely. I also do not like the play to not lose mentality.

Rod Woodson used to give up TD's because he was a gambler, and I was willing to live with that, because of the other incredible **** he used to do.

Ike will not be brought back and likely retire or a sign with a piss poor team for cash since he was pissed about the PAYCUT HE TOKE this year, maybe Bruce Calls him.
Wouldn't mind if Troy hangs up his cleats at this point he is just a vocal leader and a decent in the box LB/S that is blowing up some runs b/c of his superior instincts at reading play's only run play's now, he is worthless in coverage.

Taylor has below average hands, has become a average tackles after for the first 8 years being a top notch tackler vs the run and sticking WR after giving a cushion so he would be worthless at S.

Chad Scott used to gamble a lot too. It's not all roses on the other side either.

The rules changed and we have CBs with a second nature for old rules. Defense definitely needs attention

Anyone can play Texas Hold'em, but you want to know how WELL they can play it before you front them a stake in a game out of your own pocket.

When you have talent that you believe CAN make the gambles pay off, you let them gamble. If you don't have that faith, you tackle the catch.

as bad as Ike played Green on the long TD....shouldn't the safety have been there to help out?

Geez, what board have you been following. Didnt you know? It doesnt matter what the designed coverage was, WE blame the closest Steeler to the man who scores here at SN!

freakin' Tomlin should be fired for that blown coverage! That was all on him. Ben too! He should be traded for a 6th round pick for allowing Ike to be re-signed.

Interesting comments on how bad Ike is and how he stunk up the joint. Another player that seems to have a following on here graded out nearly the same, Jarvis Jones. http://www.Invalid Link - Check SN Home Page/2014/12...-play-bengals/ that link was posted for another comment but it also applies here as well.
Now these grades are from some internet site and maybe redone once everything is released later according to the article.

The steelersdepot link is down...hmm..

Ike, Troy, Jones and Worilds all graded poorly. Beachum and Spaeth were best. Its an alternate universe.

Ike and our secondary were playing against some pretty good players today. Greene did a great job getting off the line with out a jam. Other than the fumble Dalton played a good game. The Bengals were held to 21 points, they lead the division, they are not hot garbage. The other team is going to make some plays in this game today, the days of the defense holding another team scoreless are gone. When a team is scoreless or really low in points scored it is more likely due to screw ups on the offense.

With all that being said our defense played a decent to good game today and had an interception taken away by Jason our multimillion dollar under achiever.

In looking at the other side of the coin Byrant made a deep touch down because the guy playing opposite him stinks? This was a well played game, few penalties. Coaching seemed to be a good chess game with plays attempting to set up others and repeated use of plays that worked till the other team was able to stop them. Ike is getting to the end of his career but getting beat from time to time by a really good receiver is not that bad. Just look at Brown and the season he has had and how hard it is for the other teams to stop him. The fact that he beats the other teams coverage does not get attributed to all of the being **** players or washed up.

Green said in post game it was time he had a big game against Ike because Ike has owned him since he came in the league.

that's it, A.J., get him, when Ike is close from owning a walker and applying for his AARP card. That will show him who is boss!

And here we thought Mitchell was going to be an upgrade over Ryan Clark.

I sure hope he has a Wayne Gandy-type turnaround next year.

AJ is a smart man, talk about how Ike has owned him. A true statement in the past, but AJ is licking his chops thinking about breaking Flipper's all time yards in 1 game record if they give Ike another crack at him in week 17. Ike used to be great in coverage, but sadly time caught up with him and our FO was too blind to see it. Gay, Blake and McCsin seem to be our best 3 which is sad because Gay is the best of the lot and he would play nickel in a good secondary. We really should go CB in round 1-4 twice next year with at least 1 of the picks being above the 5'10 frame.

Then it confirms he can't cover, but refutes the claim that he can't tackle.

It doesn't refute anything, when you consider that Green caught ten balls on Ike, and Ike only tackled him six times. And three of those "tackles" consisted of pushing Green out of bounds (once), or Green running out of bounds himself (twice).

Ike stinks, no matter how you slice it.
