Former PA Democrat Gets 30 Months In Prison For Election Fraud

Martin Walsh
September 28, 2022

A former Pennsylvania Democrat congressman has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after committing fraud favoring Democratic candidates.

The Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that Michael “Ozzie” Myers pleaded guilty to conspiring to illegally vote in a federal election and deprive civil rights, voting records falsification, bribery, obstruction of justice, and orchestrating ballot-stuffing schemes in Pennsylvania’s 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 elections.

Myers served in the U.S. House from 1976 to 1980 before being expelled for bribery. He was sent to prison for three years after the FBI launched an investigation into him.

Myers bribed then-Philadelphia election Judge Domenick J. Demuro to stuff ballots in support of specific candidates, according to a 2020 indictment. Demuro pleaded guilty that year.

Myer also confessed to election fraud conspiracy with former Philadelphia election judge Marie Beren, who pleaded guilty in October 2021.

The Department of Justice said in a press release:

United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero announced today that former U.S. Congressman Michael “Ozzie” Myers, 79, of Philadelphia, PA, was sentenced to 30 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $100,000 in fines, with $10,000 of that due immediately, by United States District Court Judge Paul S. Diamond after pleading guilty to conspiracy to deprive voters of civil rights, bribery, obstruction of justice, falsification of voting records, conspiring to illegally vote in a federal election, and for orchestrating schemes to fraudulently stuff the ballot boxes for specific Democratic candidates in the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Pennsylvania elections. The defendant was immediately remanded into custody following today’s hearing.

In June 2022, the defendant admitted in court to bribing the Judge of Elections for the 39th Ward, 36th Division in South Philadelphia in a fraudulent scheme over several years. Myers admitted to bribing the election official to illegally add votes for certain candidates of their mutual political party in primary elections. Some of these candidates were individuals running for judicial office whose campaigns had hired Myers, and others were candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices that Myers favored for a variety of reasons. Myers would solicit payments from his clients in the form of cash or checks as “consulting fees,” and then use portions of these funds to pay election officials to tamper with election results.

Myers also admitted to conspiring to commit election fraud with another former Judge of Elections for the 39th Ward, 2nd Division in South Philadelphia. Myers’ accomplice was the de facto Judge of Elections and effectively ran the polling places in her division by installing close associates to serve as members of the Board of Elections. Myers admitted that he gave his accomplice directions to add votes to candidates supported by him, including candidates for judicial office whose campaigns actually hired Myers, and other candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices preferred by Myers for a variety of reasons.
Unpossible.. there is no such thing as election fraud …

I'm beginning to think that it doesn't really matter, but will see what happens in November.

I watched a couple of debates out here for Attorney General and Secretary of State, the D candidate for Gov is afraid to debate.
Anyway, the debate was hosted by the local PBS station, with a moderator from that station as well as from the Arizona Republic, the local liberal rag.

One would think that the only issues facing Arizona voters were abortion, and questioning the outcome of the 2020 election, because they were the only questions posed.
The R candidate was not only debating the D, but the 2 moderators as well.

I would not debate unless I could negotiate the moderators. It's ******* ridiculous how these are set up with a bunch of leftwing **** wads controlling it. These are not debates.

In PA Fetterman finally agreed to a debate but he wants it on Oct. 25 (after most mail-in ballots are sent), questions ahead of time, and a teleprompter with his answers.

What I love about this story is how the FBI was more concerned about how these guys got the info on the Chinese infiltration than the actual foreign government getting that much influence in the election process…

It's almost like the FBI is completely captured ideologically by the socialists on the left and are now openly the American Stassi.

Yep. The FBI tried to cover up Yu's Chinese infiltration of US elections, and they refused to arrest Yu, focusing instead on True the Vote.

But now whack job Gascon has arrested Yu.

Relative to Gascon's arrest of a Chinese frontman and spy who stole identifying information for poll workers and gave that to the Chinese, the NYT weighs in with perhaps the greatest self-own in history:

Remember — the mainstream media and Big Tech can be trusted to tell us what we can discuss and debate, and what constitutes “conspiracy theories” and Wrongthink. Right? Right?

Old and busted, Paper of Record edition on Monday (via Twitchy):

At an invitation-only conference in August at a secret location southeast of Phoenix, a group of election deniers unspooled a new conspiracy theory about the 2020 presidential outcome.
Using threadbare evidence, or none at all, the group suggested that a small American election software company, Konnech, had secret ties to the Chinese Communist Party and had given the Chinese government backdoor access to personal data about two million poll workers in the United States, according to online accounts from several people at the conference.
In the ensuing weeks, the conspiracy theory grew as it shot around the internet. To believers, the claims showed how China had gained near complete control of America’s elections. Some shared LinkedIn pages for Konnech employees who have Chinese backgrounds and sent threatening emails to the company and its chief executive, who was born in China.
New hotness by the same reporter, the very next day (emphases mine, and thanks to Mollie Hemingway):

The top executive of an elections technology company that has been the focus of attention among election deniers was arrested by Los Angeles County officials in connection with an investigation into the possible theft of personal information about poll workers, the county said on Tuesday.
Eugene Yu, the founder and chief executive of Konnech, the technology company, was taken into custody on suspicion of theft, the Los Angeles County district attorney, George Gascón, said in a statement.
Konnech, which is based in Michigan, develops software to manage election logistics, like scheduling poll workers. Los Angeles County is among its customers.
The company has been accused by groups challenging the validity of the 2020 presidential election with storing information about poll workers on servers in China. The company has repeatedly denied keeping data outside the United States, including in recent statements to The New York Times.
Mr. Gascón’s office said its investigators had found data stored in China. Holding the data there would violate Konnech’s contract with the county.

So much for “threadbare evidence,” eh? What makes this particularly amusing is that the DA pressing the charges is that famously right-wing conservative firebrand … George Gascón. Gascón, some will recall, is the DA elected with support from George Soros’ progressive-prosecutor project who just narrowly escaped a recall effort in Los Angeles for his hard-Left, soft-on-crime policies.

And so much for journalism, too. Rather than delving into the allegations being made by critics of Konnech, Stuart Thompson dismissed them out of hand as ravings of the paranoid fringe. Even as Gascón had arranged to arrest Yu and charge him with precisely what this group claimed, Thompson reported their concerns thusly:

But the attacks on Konnech demonstrate how far-right election deniers are also giving more attention to new and more secondary companies and groups. Their claims often find a receptive online audience, which then uses the assertions to raise doubts about the integrity of American elections.
Unlike other election technology companies targeted by election deniers, Konnech, a company based in Michigan with 21 employees in the United States and six in Australia, has nothing to do with collecting, counting or reporting ballots in American elections. Instead, it helps clients like Los Angeles County and Allen County, Ind., with basic election logistics, such as scheduling poll workers.
No kidding. That seems pretty important to Gascón, though, and to Los Angeles County in the original contract. Poll-workers’ personal data is normally protected not just to keep from discouraging people to volunteer, but also to ensure that outsiders cannot corrupt election processes by bribing or coercing those poll workers. Konnech apparently did leave that data where China could access it, at the very least, and perhaps even intend to facilitate such corruption of election processes. Gascón didn’t start an extradition process for Yu from Michigan just for the fun of it, after all.

Even more amusing, Yu tried suing True the Vote over the allegations, forcing Catherine Engelbrecht to reveal her source to the court last month. That may have backfired, although Gascón’s office claims it didn’t have any connection to their investigation. However True the Vote is claiming vindication now:

The judge in the case granted Konnech’s request for an emergency restraining order, which required True the Vote to disclose who had allegedly gained access to Konnech’s data. True the Vote released the name in a sealed court filing.
“The organization is profoundly grateful to the Los Angeles district attorney’s office for their thorough work and rapid action in this matter,” the group said in a statement.
Maybe next time, reporters can try reporting rather than just regurgitating their own conspiracy theories as “news.” It would save them embarrassing episodes such as this, and might actually allow for the issues of election security to get discussed in a rational manner. No one thinks that Konnech managed to throw the election in 2020 by working in deep-blue states like California and Illinois, after all — but outside penetration of US election systems used to matter, at least when Democrats and the mainstream media didn’t like the outcome of those elections.

Unbelievable. NYT dedicates significant resources to an article about "right-wing conspiracy theories" about a voting software company involved with the Chinese to steal information about poll workers, and two days later publishes a report about the head of the same voting software company being arrested for stealing poll worker information and giving it to the Chinese.

The FBI team that interfered with the election, suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story, identified.

FBI Team Involved in Censorship of Hunter Biden Laptop Story Identified

The FBI team that was in communication with Facebook before the social media company censored the original Hunter Biden laptop story has been identified, according to a new court filing.

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, identified the team as the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF), according to an updated complaint entered late on Oct. 6.

Meta named the team after receiving a subpoena in a case alleging the federal government pressured Big Tech firms to censor users.

“Pursuant to the third-party subpoena, Meta has identified the FBI’s FITF, as supervised by Laura Dehmlow, and Elvis Chan as involved in the communications between the FBI and Meta that led to Facebook’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story,” the updated complaint states.

Mark Zuckberg, Meta’s CEO, said in August that Facebook reduced the reach of posts about Hunter Biden’s laptop in response to advice from the FBI.

“The background here is the FBI I think basically came to some folks on our team [and] were like, ‘Hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election, we have it on notice that basically there’s about to be some kind of dump similar to that, so just be vigilant,'” Zuckerberg said on Joe Rogan’s podcast. He made similar comments before the Senate in 2020.

“One of the threats that the FBI has alerted our company and the public to was the possibility of a hack and leak operation in the days or weeks leading up to this election,” Zuckerberg said then. Those alerts “suggested we be on high alert and sensitivity if a trove of documents appeared that we should view that with suspicion that it might be part of a foreign manipulation attempt,” he added.

The FBI declined to comment on the updated lawsuit, which now names the FBI as a defendant. The bureau said previously that it is routinely in touch with U.S. companies but “cannot ask, or direct, companies to take action on information received.”

2 Officials

The FITF was established by FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2017 “to identify and counteract malign foreign influence operations targeting the United States,” according to the bureau’s website. Such operations include covert actions by outside governments aimed at influencing the American political scene or discourse, the bureau has said.

Laura Dehmlow is a supervisor of FITF. She has been named as a defendant in the case along with Elvis Chan, a special agent who manages the cyber branch at the FBI’s San Francisco Field Office.

According to new documents produced by the government as part of discovery in the case, Dehmlow briefed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Cybersecurity Advisory Committee on March 1, 2022. Minutes of the meeting show Dehmlow telling members that the FITF actually started in 2016 and has since grown to 80 workers.

Asked about goals for approaching mal-, mis-, and disinformation, Dehmlow said that “we need a media infrastructure that is held accountable; we need to early educate the populace; and that today, critical thinking seems to be a problem currently,” according to the minutes.

Chan, meanwhile, bragged on a recent podcast that the San Francisco office “was very involved in helping to protect the US elections in 2020” by working with private companies and election officials. He also indicated he works closely with CISA Director Jen Easterly, who has been revealed to have taken part in pressuring Big Tech companies to crack down on alleged misinformation.

“We talked with all of these entities I mentioned regularly, at least on a monthly basis. And right before the election, probably on a weekly basis. If they were seeing anything unusual, if we were seeing anything unusual, sharing intelligence with technology companies, with social media companies, so that they could protect their own platforms. That’s where the FBI and the US government can actually help companies,” Chan said.

Plaintiffs in the case said that helping social media companies protect their platforms “includes censorship and suppression of speech at the FBI’s behest.”
Chan also organized meetings with LinkedIn from 2020 through the present, with agendas provided indicating the meetings included going over censoring election-related posts on social media. Chan organized similar meetings with other Big Tech firms, plaintiffs said.

I saw an article condemning Russia"s efforts to pull off a sham election in Ukraine...

Unfortunately the Democratic party offered to show Russia how to do it and then utterly fix all reporting, legislative & judicial attempts to challenge it and how to then run a country from some guy's living room.

Jimmy will have to read this after he's let out of SN Jail. I know it's dated, but Finchem is now running for office. He handles CBS pretty well. Watch how snake Ed O'Keefe tries to label Finchem a fool and an idiot.

This country has such a love affair with fiddling with elections and voters that neither big party has any real interest of upsetting the apple cart… as we see, they love harping about it, but hate doing anything about it… and when members of either party try to put legitimate reforms in place, they are ostracized and belittled by the parties

its the uniparty. The average Dem or Rep needs the other to thrive. Just like lawyers in small towns needing other lawyers to survive.
For a high level example, examine the actual differences between Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell. They both say different things around the edges, but when you watch what they "do" in terms of voting, arm-twisting, getting things completed "at the last minute" they are very, very similar. That is not a coincidence.

The old guard is what needs to go. It won't change much until term limits get enshrined in the constitution. A balanced budged Ammendment combined with congress having to abide by all laws the citizens have to abide by would help too.

Thing is, term limits won't help a lot as long as unelected bureaucrats rung most of the government and institute regulations.
Congress has very little real accountability. "It wasn't me, it was (insert name of agency)."
Need more Republicans on Congress to pass the REINS Act, which would require Congress to vote on any regulation that would cost more than $100 million. Personally I'd make it $50 million.
That way the Dims would have to stand up and say, "I proudly voted to raise your gas and utility bills three-fold."

Got to start someplace. It's either that or we will end up starting over on down the road.

A lot of government needs dissolved. I'd figure at least 60% of it we could do away with. The rest needs scrubbed clean.
