Tomlin talks about being open to changes of players and coaches so I thought I would make some suggestions to help the coach.
Please feel free to add your changes here as well.
Immediately terminate Canada’s contract and remove him.
Elevate Sullivan the QB coach to OC to call the plays on an interim basis for this season and start using the middle of the field.
Show the infamous Terrell Austin the door and elevate Brian Flores to DC and let him run the defense.
Sit Najee down and let the undrafted rookie Jaylen Warren start in his place. Let Najee sit and rest his foot.
Please sit down Claypuff and work Boykin and Simms into his spot. See if they can run cleaner routes on a consistent basis and get open and make catches without falling.
Insert Cal Austin III into the game plan to try and take the top off the defense with his speed.
Sit the failed very high and expensive draft pick Devin Bust and give Mark Robinson a helmet.
Maybe think about more of a four defensive line with Cam, Loudermilk, Ogojobi, spelling and Wormely. Rotate Tyson A. and Adams.
Use three LBers, Highsmith, Jack, Leal and when TJ is healthy he replaces Leal who moves to DL.
CB not much you can do, you play with the guys you have but with more pressure on QB helps CBs out.
Safety’s with Edmunds and Minkah I’m ok with.
Please add what you want changed within reason. Firing Tomlin isn’t reasonable since it’s not happening.

Lip service...that is all the "changes" Tomlin is referencing is going to amount to. He will keep Austin around until the end of the year, then fire him. He will then Promote Flores to DC...since this is Tomlin's defense and his play calling, that will buy him at least 2 more years of using scape goats for his defense. Offensively, sure, fire Canada...but really, since Haley was let go, the offense looks almost identical. Maybe, just maybe, this is the offense that Tomlin wants to see on the field. It sure as **** seems like we keep replacing coaches but get to watch and see the exact same schemes, game plans, and issues year in and year out. There is one common denominator and until that changes, it will be more of the same. Garbage in, Garbage out.

I think Alualu is done. I would rotate in Loudermilk. Canada and Austin would be shown the door.Worm would only be in on passing downs. Spillane on short run downs. I would bring in a vet corner, best available. Or trade for one like they did with spoon. Claypool would get less reps and Pickens would get more as well as the third getting a hat. Also would look to see if any vet pass rushers are being shopped.

O'Canada needs to be terminated and immediately to leave the building with his "hall Pas" revoked. He can not be left in the building so absolutely NO contact with team or coaches.

interim ONLY for this year but possibly "Todd Hail" for a short-term finish season deal.

Again, Austin to leave the facility with no contact to players or coaches.

Is Austin of injured reserve and if so I agree to try him. Need to change up some things and a non-hungry Claypuff benching might wake up other players.

Sit the failed very high and expensive draft pick Devin Bust and give Mark Robinson a helmet.

I like your entire post and just thought to add a little here.

I wonder if Tomlin still has ties to Virginia, next door to NC.

Was the Gruden/Tampa/Oakland deal the last time a coach was dealt in a trade?
Does anyone honestly think Tomlin would be a highly desired commodity? Most of the teams who play us want him right where he is - just like I cheered when Marvin Lewis got his extension.

Last year maybe. This season perhaps not.

Problem is the FO will do absolutely nothing regardless.

When he is finally is done in Pittsburgh there will be a market. Almost has to be. However, we are clearly seeing what he would do with the talent that a typical team that fires its coach would do.

Honestly in Film when they show the cut of Bush blitzing unblocked, I'd look at him and say wtf are you doing. Breaking down is 10 year old pee wee ****. Get your stuff you are released.

I think Tomlin would be an extremely hot commodity. The media loves him and other players / coaches speak highly of him. However whoever hires him would regret it pretty quickly I believe.

slash , alualu might be done. But he is not the problem IMO. Id change a Mlb, and give loudermilk some snaps. Alualu isnt even 1st team now. Im not sure ogunjobi is an answer at Left Tackle.

Claypool has all the physical skills....he needs to be coached up on what to do as a WR to help your Quarterback. Romo explained it in good detail yesterday and showed how Claypool makes critical mistakes in his route running. This goes along with what Juju said last week about his time in KC vs The Burgh. He said he learned more about Offense in 6 months than he did in 4 years in Pittsburgh. Maybe the attention to detail can make Claypool a better WR.

I'd give Mark Robinson a helmet.....he needs to get some play time. Devin Bush & Robert Spillane are both average at best...and I think I'm being generous. The Steelers need to let Mark Robinson get play time.

Also bench Tyson Alualu and give a helmet to Isiah Loudermilk. Tyson Alualu doesn't have good burst anymore and I'm also no fan of Chris Wormley. Loudermilk looked pretty darn good last season...was hoping he could take the next step this year but he seems like he's taken a step back.

I'm not comfortable with lumping Spillane in with Bush. Spillane isn't fast enough to be a premium linebacker but should get every single down till someone better can be brought in. Devin Bush's play is an abortion. He stands ther in quicksand and even if he has a little more speed he doesn't cover anyone. That blitz was so ****** laughable. It was like he was on skates for the first time. He was two steps outside Allen and just ran right past him like he expected him to step towards him. His play should not be compared to anyone.

Very good point but there are several teams that would hire him just because of his "popularity" to appease the fanbase. Once there in about 0-10 years he'd be run out of town on a rail.

We here in STEELER NATION know his capabilities. He may be (pending on perspective) a good coach / person / mentor / etc. but he has well wore his presence here.

I could care less who his next employer would be but seriously doubt he would take on another coaching job. He isn't stupid and understands his situation, obviously.

A team like Detroit would take him. He would give the fans false hope of competency with his speaking skills and the mediocrity he would produce on the field would be a step up for them and also give them a false hope of future success. He could ride(pun intended) the Motown team for at least 8- 10 years easily and produce nothing.

The trouble is they do not teach anything on this team or Claypool would have learned that stuff by end of year one.

What's the point of having coaches who do not teach. It's almost as if players must take it upon themselves to hire private instruction to develop themselves.

This is why we could have a WR Coach like Hines Ward.

THIS

It's been known for some time that Coach Tomlin doesn't elevate / develop players. His draft pedigree shows this as he doesn't seem to elevate project players. Claypuff is a great example along with several on the OL & DL.

the only hope is the pressure and heat is so great Tomlin steps down and Flores takes over then cleans house for 2023. Other than that, I see little to no changes no matter what comes out of his gums. This team needs serious change and a new outlook. The bread is so stale, it's now croutons.

I think we are going to get a very good idea of who actually has heart and who doesn’t moving forward.
The team at 1-4 is at a crossroads imo and now how do they handle it.
Will they stare down adversity and fight to try and get better or do they quit on the team and just collect their paychecks?
Ask me this same question after the last game of the season and I think I’ll be better prepared to answer.
