Some Thoughts on Possible Changes

the only hope is the pressure and heat is so great Tomlin steps down and Flores takes over then cleans house for 2023. Other than that, I see little to no changes no matter what comes out of his gums. This team needs serious change and a new outlook. The bread is so stale, it's now croutons.
There is NO pressure. Pressure would have to come from Rooney....that won't happen. It won't happen because you would need to pressure Rooney first, and to do that you need an empty stadium and low merch. sales. Even the Browns in all their terrible seasons sold enough tickets. Nothing the fans say or the media says means crap, you have to vote with your wallet and there are too many casual fans who will open up theirs to replace your money. That and the international fan base that grows everyday leaves the serious fan with no way to protest Tomlin's garbage product we see on Sundays. Sorry, but that's reality. Rooney on his own will have to get sick and embarrassed of this crap for any hope of change to be realistic.

I agree with you 100%, as I know nothing will happen until MT steps away from the position.

Like I said in the previous posts..."Change" was just a bunch of hot air by Tomlin...no changes are coming. Same scheme, players, and coaches and expecting different results.

I used to think that, but now I wonder how a protest of that type would actually convince AR Jr to make the necessary changes. After reading this article:

https://marketrealist.com/p/who-owns-pittsburgh-steelers/

I came to the conclusion that not much at all.

After all:

What is the Rooney family's net worth?

The Rooney family's fame goes well beyond football, so you can imagine that their net worth is pretty hefty. Also, we're dealing with generational wealth that doesn't look like it will be leaving the Rooney family anytime soon. After all, the Pittsburgh Steelers team has come a long way from being a fledgling startup in 1933.
On his own, Art Rooney Jr. is reportedly worth $1.2 billion.

Methinks the gate, concession, and apparel sales are just pennies in the Rooney family coffers compared to their other sources of revenue, to include investments (and I would think that, the NFL being a revenue-sharing league, any effect a "boycott" of games would have on teams would be diminished).

If anything, perhaps an appeal by the fanbase to his handling of the "Rooney" legacy and allowing this current coaching regime to continue in mediocrity and further "stain" the Rooney name... maybe that would spur a reversal in the "way things are done". Or start wearing paper bags at the games.

No surprises here.

It seems as though Tomlin is content with the shade of lipstick on the pig.

Instead, he is happy just to re-arrange a couple of deck chairs, whilst everyone else stares incredulously at the iceberg a few metres off the starboard bow.

slash , alualu might be done. But he is not the problem IMO. Id change a Mlb, and give loudermilk some snaps. Alualu isnt even 1st team now. Im not sure ogunjobi is an answer at Left Tackle.
Ogun you can rotate with the rookie. But yeah Alualu isn't a huge problem now as they replaced him. Bush and Spillane just aren't the answer. I think more than anything it is coaching and inability to develop at certain positions. Unfortunately nothing is being changed. So expect plenty more suck.

I guess no real changes afterall like most of us thought. This is Tomlin's team and is the reason, at this point, he and he alone should be on the hot seat. But, just like there will be no coaching changes mid-season, Tomlin isn't going anywhere anytime soon. All we can hope for is that Canaduh does get fired after the season and Tomlin let's the new OC actually do his job.

As the losses mount... And they will... I will be paying attention to observe if MT loses the team. Meaning, do I see that they have stopped playing for him.

The one thing about his teams.... They have never quit on him, in my estimation. If he loses this team after 8 or 9 losses.... He could be done.

Tomlins defense was unprepared. Just watch what Brady will do.

So……..nothing today on any “changes”? Isn’t Tuesday the normal media day about the upcoming game? I’ve heard nothing. What a surprise.

Did you for a second think otherwise?

There's only one possible change that will do any good. Hire a new HC and let him build his own staff and team. Like I've been saying for a while, Tomlin will never win **** here ever again.

You are probably right. Then only part of what I said might be right is that Art 2 gets sick and embarrassed by the product being put out. Maybe the only hope for change: ego.

It depends if Brady has his weapons playing. The Tampa O has been mediocre this year but if he has Evans and Godwin playing along with another decent WR, they go up and down the field on us. Fournette will get 5+ per carry and wear out the D by halftime.

Tomlin said he is already highly involved in the O and we already know he has pretty much been running the D since LeBeau left. So, making a change to an assistant means absolutely nothing unless it comes with Rooney telling Tomlin to let his assistants do their jobs. This also could be one of the reasons we typically have alot fewer overall assistant coaches than other teams.

it's past noon on Wednesday.
no coaching changes
nothing has changed
all is right in the world of Mike Tomlin

which is ****** up in reality

I am at the point where I wonder if it is in the Steelers - or this board's - best interest for us to win. Winning will give Tomlin the false sense that 1 - 4 was just a glitch and we'll right the ship before season's end. At the end of this season we will still be no better than 7 - 9 or maybe 9 - 7 so Tomlin can keep his streak alive. The only thing that bothers me about continuing to lose is what it might do to those players that really want to win and can see the futility of the coaching staff's efforts.

would it really matter if we got the #1 overall pick?
we'd still roll out the same old tired **** week after week. half-hearted play combined with a few guys giving a damn and a coaching staff reigned in by their boss who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.

It is a little mind numbing if you stop and focus in. With the injuries they continue with the scrubs off the PS, and substandard play is allowed to continue.

I think he thinks if they keep doing it repetitively over and over it will improve. But that is fools gold if they think that will actually cause a positive outcome.

Too set in his ways to flip the script. so we continue the long season with painful views and no end in sight.

What is the point with having a bank during the season if they aren't pulling the trigger when vets are needed?

They are doing a great Pirates imitation minus trading half the team away. Still with the same level of suck. Browns are no longer the factory of sadness. We have taken that gauntlet and ran with it.

Nah there just is no good reason to dump good money after bad this season now… hey maybe they rebound and win their next three games and it’s different at the deadline, but if not, jettison expendable assets where you can and save that cap to roll over next year…
