SOTU Tonight!

you can tell he did well by the silence of the Dems today.

Sarge I get what you are saying, But Trump is Trump. I think that is what most people respect about him. He is just being himself, not a politician.

Roughly three-quarters of respondents who watched President Trump’s State of the Union address approved of his speech, according to CNN and CBS News polls released late Tuesday.
Seventy six percent approved of the speech in the CBS poll, with 24 percent saying they disapproved. About 59 percent of respondents to the CNN poll had a very positive reaction to the speech, while 17 percent said they had a somewhat positive reaction. Roughly one-quarter -- 23 percent -- had a negative reaction in that survey.

But to me, that is the problem. If the guy would just cut some of the nonsense, he would be far better off. You can still get your point across and make the Dems look like jackasses without being a jackass yourself. I know some folks love that stuff, but I find it juvenile and off putting. I think it makes him far less effective. If you think about it, he really doesn't have to act that way. The Democrats feel comfortable telling the truth about who they are these days with the abortion bills and socialism and all the rest. Let them keep talking. Point out where they are wrong based on your economic record. You'll win every time.

If the press treated Trump, like Obama. Take that back, how about fairly, things would be better. I think Trump has reason to act the way he does. Lies, fake news, false claims of crime and bigotry. You name it. The moment he was President-Elect people were out to get him, and this includes Democrats in the FBI.

I do agree; he can tone it down a bit, but based on what I know about Democratic politics, he can stand and take it for the length of his Presidency, or hit back. Sometimes he needs to act aggressively. I wish he would do it a bit less and be more to the point, factual and point out double standards.

if you go to cnn they have Pelosi clapping, makes her look like a seal

Pelosi's denture glue needs to be replaced.

Judging by twitter posts, anyone who disagrees with President Trump was boycotting the SOTU - so that number seems pretty accurate.

Yeah whoever wrote that speech for him was 100% targeting moderates swing voters... it was refined and geared to the middle of the road Democrats that put him in office.... If the Dems keep swinging left they leave that swath behind and tgere is no way he loses in 20/20

Tibs will be along soon to describe how terrible things are, how bad the SOTU was, how bad its gonna get.

Even if one was critical of Trump, like Sarge, did his speech not amount to what those folks most would have liked from him in terms of tone, message and effect?

What the heck was that stack of papers Pelosi kept rummaging through? Looked like she was studying a car lease but they have pretty big words in them so likely not. Photos maybe?

Court documents from her great-great grandkids, seeking to have Grangranmama put in a home.

Haven't seen so many dims dressed in white since the heydays of the KKK.

I have a new tax plan I wish Trump would unveil tonight. All Congressmen are to pay a 70% income tax and every re-election it goes up 5%, . Tired of both sides getting rich off the public teet and selling this country down the road for personal gain.

How about they pay 95% tax on all income that is over and above their Congressional wages while they are in office and for the next 10 years thereafter?

Rush said "Why were they all dressed in white? It certainly wasn't because they're virgins."

We would expect something so crass from that misogynist pig.

Liz Cheney@Liz_Cheney

Things my Democrat women colleagues wouldn’t clap for at #StateOfTheUnion2019 tonight: America, freedom, free enterprise, law enforcement heroes, record low unemployment for women & minorities, the right of babies to live. Things they did clap for: themselves.

That's a Bingo.

Ya jus say 'bingo'.

Lol, I know, but because I put the above in quotes, it said I had to write at least three words to post.

I am critical of trumps antics, but i thought he did great last night. If he could act like that all the time i certainly wouldn't have a problem with him. Maybe he will turn over a new leaf

I didn't watch it, but the transcript of the speech is excellent.

I don't know how any red-blooded American can reject anything he stated in that speech in written form. I just can't. You might not like him as a person or his delivery or mannerism. But what he actually said is all true (at least in broad brush strokes).

Those liberals today nit-picking the inaccuracies and exaggerations are way off base. There was nothing in that speech any more or less accurate than ANY State of the Union speech by any previous President.

Again, the liberal media just rears its ugly head of bias and hatred towards anything Trump does. Obama would NEVER get this type of scrutiny and disdain for a speech watchers gave almost a 66% approval rating. Never. And Tibs and 21 and every other ******* liberal sucker fish that inhabit this board knows that and are too spineless to admit it.

NPR ran a fact check that did just that.
