Yeah, two posts a day, mostly about The Walking Dead, are worth spending $7 a month, and would just about cover my bandwidth utilization costs on this site.

Seeing Jupiter explain capitalism while half of SN melts down over it is.. well, sad.

Dude explains that he doesn't see tbe value of $60/yr and he gets "So what douche, pay up anyway!" No attempts to show him that value; just bitching about why he's not buying something he doesn't want.

The nerve of Jupiter, wanting something for his $60. Just pay your goddamned money and like what you get.

Yep, new SN is just awesome. Look at this ****. Where we once had Dave, we now have Buff. Super trade-off.

Just pay us for the same thing everyone else gets for free and like it. We don't care if you ask respectfully like Jupiter WHAT you get for it; just cough it up and move along. Hell, with Buff and his "gimme money but don't ask what you get for it" schtick as the face of the board, who WOULDN'T pay for access?
 
people that run the board don't seem to be eager to tell people WHY they should give money, just threatening to make the board go away if more people don't pay up

They have told you that though. They are spending their time and money keeping this board afloat. You either want to help keep it afloat, or you don't. I look at it kind of like any social club or fan club...some people have to run it. They are basically donating their time, but they are damned if they are going to spend their own money to give you a place to socialize. This is not like a movie company, they aren't trying to sell you a product, they are keeping this group going but they aren't willing to do it if it costs them money. I think that's perfectly reasonable.

You're content to freeload and let the rest of the group support your participation here. Just don't ***** and moan when somebody calls it what it is.

Hey fuckbag, I explained to him above about what were trying to do. Its been 2 weeks. We can't make up for 2 years of sinking into the ground in a few minutes. If 6 months from now it has nothing to offer then ***** but until then shut the hell up.

Once again...they are NOT sales guys...they are not selling a product...they are volunteers. Buff and Dave have repeatedly laid it out...we will keep this site going because some of you seem to want it...we will not keep it going if it costs us money...if you don't want it to go away you need to contribute...they have asked for suggestions on how to improve it, so you feel like you're getting your money's worth...if the answer is "I have no suggestions and I'm not going to contribute, but I'm happy to keep using the site and letting others pay for it", don't be shocked by the negative reaction from them and from others.

wow, some people complain just to up their post count or stir the ****. I think this place is worth saving/keep going. It's sad idiots like that drove away longtime contributors of knowledge and quality content with incessant arguing, name calling and questioning of knowledge/opinion

Well obviously I don't post here often( I have in the past but forgot the log in info lol) but I'll offer my opinion anyway. I do enjoy reading this board and a few other Steeler boards as well. I also frequent boards for all my other favorite teams in other sports. Penguins, Penn State football, basketball - both pro and college, baseball, and a few other random interests. This isn't to devalue the hard work the admins do here or on any other site but if I were to pay at each site it would cost a fortune.

Anyway I just want to say I would have no problem with ads and it wouldn't stop me from visiting at all. They can be annoying at times but it understandable.

You have a bunch of sports fans, Pittsburgh citizens, and sports fans in general, there has to be a way to use that in your favor with ad revenue. As a business owner myself I can see this as a viable advertising spot for the right biz. How much could one sports bar bring in by being the "official game day spot" for Steeler nation? Or whatever

Anyway I hope you see this post as I intend it, an honest attempt to help.
