Steelers 2nd Round Pick

well the one I posted highlights of was an ice cream man in Australia when UH found him

What a leg! His motion often looked like he was kicking a little squib kick and the ball would cover most of the length of the field. His placement was very keen. I also thought that the coverage team was great. You can tell they spent time on getting down field to maximize his placement and distance. The first down throw looked pretty good too.

If there is a high potential OLB in the 2nd round, I’d definitely consider him. I believe Bud will be franchised this year and walk next, so that would be his replacement.

Hmmm, we have both Ola and Skipper in the fold. I, for one, am not worried about the OLB position---check that---CUT CHICKASLOW...ok, I'm done.

Many teams have relied on backup or even 3rd string RB's and/or a RB by committee approach and have had success. The 49ers use a RB by committee approach and have no clear lead back. The Rats running attack comes from Jackson, Ingram and even Edwards. Seattle uses a RB by committee approach and lost their 3 top RB's. They are now using guys that weren't playing football just 3 weeks ago. And, even though Minnesota has a stud in Cook, they won games with significant contributions from Mattison and even Boone. So, sure, you can go after a "stud" RB but it still boils down to your O-line and even the rest of the O (Must have some semblance of a passing attack). If the O-line sucks or is mediocre and teams stack the box with 7, 8 or even 9 men (like teams did against the Steelers), you aren't running anywhere.

If, by some miracle, Ben comes back AND we get Harris or Dobbins---I'm calling it NOW. SUPERBOWL in Tampa, FL - Steelers are going to be there!!!

Maaaaaan there is no other Derrick Henry. That dude is a mutant. If we want someone "like" Derrick Henry, we'll have to go get him from the Titans

Trust me, Najee Harris is a Derrick Henry clone. I'll add this - he's slightly lighter and faster, right now. I've watched both kids entire collegiate careers and they're interchangeable.

I see a lot of similarities to Saquan Barkley in JK Dobbins.

There are going to be a lot of good RB's coming out this year...

Anybody think they give up their 2021 #1 if a RB they want is available early in 2nd round?.

Get back in your cave, Supe!!! I'm calling Nick later today and getting the scoop on Najee.

Truthfully, I think he should enter the draft because of the projected shelf life he should have with under 400 carries. I still see him as a second round pick - never thought he was a first rounder; but I think he'll have a better career than Swift...

The problem is that he is coming out in a year with lots of other RBs. Some rated higher than him. I think another year at Bama would put him in the 1st round with less competition. Bama had a lot of freshmen this year and should be more experienced next year.

Won't happen but IMO Jonathan Taylor out of Wisconsin would be worth of giving up a 1 for. Really like that kids overall game.

I haven't had time to really get into draft **** yet busy new year... hope you all have a great year! but ILB Pete Werner Ohio State any likes dislikes any ideas where he might go in draft??? looks like he could sneak into 2nd but probably 3rd or 4th maybe even 5th?? I remember dude from Wisconsin couple years ago guys on this board here really liked him browns got him in 4th I think. *** he's been a destroyer of worlds since. what little I've seen of Werner here n there looks like he could line up inside next to bush and be there a long time...6-3 235ish covers pretty well. everyone wants to run the ball again...ravens just the beginning of trend. just as we gear up to stop the pass! lol was at jets game man our defense is light in the pants... be curious what it would look like right now if we were in playoffs against titans.... probably about like the Jacksonville game from few years ago. can't see Barron in there another year but ya never know go steelers!!!

Hell no, you don't use a first round pick on a question mark draft slot in the 2nd round. You spend a first round draft pick on a player only 1 year into their rookie contract, who you project to be a pro bowler. Turns out he was a first team All-Pro.

If a player was still there in early second round that you would have taken at #18 if you had the pick, I see no difference in trading next year's #1.
You essentially would be trading your 2021 #1 for Minkah.

I hope Harris or Dobbins come with an improved offensive line and a QB that can do more than dump off.

A determining factor in getting Fitzpatrick was the Dolphins gamble the Steelers 2
1st round pick would be better than #18.

We’d not see a player of his caliber slide down to us otherwise

harris looks like the early Fournette powerful but also a great receiver would be a stellar rnd 2 pick

There’s word that Thaddeus Moss might go pro. Business wise that might not be a bad decision. Very weak draft class for TE’s and he has the bloodlines and did have a very good year. Could end up being the first TE off the board.

I highly doubt it. Very mediocre statistics against the AP top 25, a medical concern. Not the ideal height...... I am not touching him earlier than the 5th round................

It's a shame because the position we need the most, TE, is probably the weakest position in this draft. I'm wondering if Colbert is waiting for Detroit to cut bait with Jesse and try to bring him back on the cheap
