Steelers @ Baltimore

Has this team been up for a big game in the last three years. I absolutely hate to say it but Hairball out coaches Tomlin every time we play them.
 
Maybe I am wrong, but it seems the players on defense simply do not fit the scheme. On offense, they are just bad right now.

I suspect that if that is the case, then you were a terrible player and coach.

Stop making sense according to Andrew you don't need coaching or leadership. But wait San Fran and Seattle amazingly turned **** around by dumb luck. Not. Coaching

Nope i just know the difference. no they have the players. Cause Carrol was a beast coaching the jets.
 
You can't keep drafting bad and expect to make diamonds. The team also looks like a disorganized cluster ****. It's painful to watch.

And is guess bill sucked because of the browns. Yet he did great with the pats. Tomlin was handed a great franchise and and it had regressed every year Why don't we have the players.

The Titans, Texans and Jets may be better than us.....and we may not beat the Browns in Cleveland....face it, this is a bad team....they're not gonna' be anywhere near the playoffs

You didnt give any. The Qb missed game changing throws all nite. But thats coaching. You bitching about going for it. Which is opinion. The oline? They have to win. How is that coaching? Look difference of opinion. I dont blame coaches ofr physical **** that happens on the field. Do you really think Garvin didnt know his man was the tight end on the goaline play. Cmon..

You don't blame coaches for anything. Drafting, player development, gameplanning, mental miscues - you explain all of them away as someone else's fault.

I keep on looking at the schedule and thinking we can win 10 games. Then I remember what I have seen on the field this year and think we may be lucky to win 3. Score a ******* TD people. All the other teams are doing it.

If you get up on somebody by 14-17 you don't have to worry a whole lot about their run game. At that point in most games(maybe late 2nd early 3rd) where you possess a high powered offense just the fear of you being able to move the ball at will pushes them into their passing game and out of balance because of the fear of not being able to catch up.

Not in every case of course, but it goes a long way. Ask the colts when they had Manning or the Pats with that Brady guy.

That's the only hope this team has to be a mediocre contender at this point, they have the weapons because of Tomlins insistence to follow Arian's idiotic philosophy of stocking up on skill players and ignoring the O-line.

Look at Belichick a few years ago, he used average skill players, built a great O-line and at one point had one of the shittiest defenses in the league yet they were in the playoff that year.
 
BTW, I'm not even trying to hint that it affected the outcome of this game, but the officiating was abominable. As was the analysis of it by Simms and Nantz.

Not once tonite have you seen me say that. I said if you want discuss personnel decisions go right ahead.

Like i said show me anything you can say was gameplanning. How is a player mental miscue on the coach??? I dont understand that.

I and others have many times in this thread; you keep blowing off the question. You respond with, "personnel decisions are different, let's talk gameplanning"

Yet again.. the offensive gameplan sucks. Nothing but short throws; even on third-and-long, we throw a 4-yard pass into coverage. Too much run-run-curl-punt. The stale blitz packages that never work anymore without good pass rushers. The cushions in coverage. The fourth-quarter punt and the FGs are kinda judgement calls but not really. Statistically speaking, the chances of making a 4th-and-short are much better than people think, and the benefit of three points is much lower than people think. Especially when you're down by multiple scores, which Tomlin never cares about.

Regardless of that.. we play FOR field goals. Once we hit the 30, we take our foot of the gas playcalling-wise and just thank the opposing team for the FG attempt.

The on-field play stems at least in part from coaching. Marcus Gilbert clearly sucks, so why not alter the blocking scheme? Jarvis and Worilds can't win their battles, so why not blitz a DB or something? The secondary is sitting deep to wipe out the deep ball, so why not use liberal play-action? And so on.

How is a player mental miscue on the coach??? I dont understand that.

When it's a constant miscue. If a team is heavily penalized for years and years in a row, I start to wonder.
 
Went to the game Sat up in club level. Wore my Pouncey away jersey for the first time. Rats fans were nice. Spent the 2nd and part of the 3 rd quarter at the bar. Had fun, met a NYFD honor guard member and we talked about old times.
Went back to my seat and my host a Ravens fan was ready to leave when I was ready. On the opening drive of the 4th when the Steelers **** the bed I said: "let's go"'
This Steeler team needs some work.
Oh well.
