Teams are built in the trenches. When healthy, the DL is fine, but they aren't. The FO failed to fix the OL during the offseason and they basically need to start from scratch this offseason.
 
I'm fairly certain they need to burn this administration down.

 
Watt isn't 100%, missing Alualu badly, Tuitt out, Haden out... that's gonna make any D look worse than they are. It's been Heyward and backups all year...

Can you blame them. Offense could play better. But won't or is being held back by the OC. Every freaking game. They're probably tired of that ****
 
Should have just given them the TD so the Steelers D can get some oxygen and an enema
 
OK now all we gotta do is hold them to one TD in the second half we score 31 in the second half amd I win the prediction thread. Got em right where I want em.

Name an "intimidating" defense in the NFL. I mean, I know they are all intimidating to OUR offense. But, the rules have taken hitting, covering, sacking ... ferocity out of the game
 
Last place in the division and we haven't even started the annual Tomlin December swoon yet.

The voice of reason...yep everyone is blaming Tomlin, Canada, etc. But what you said is the crux of the problem. That and Ben not being the right QB to run this offense. A younger Ben sure, but this offense is seriously hampered by his lack of mobility.
 
Game over and the way our D is playing, season is over. I can't see us stopping anyone with any kind of a rushing game. And, we are back to rushing 3 men at times. That never worked before and it didn't work when they tried it so far today. No pressure on a QB means we get picked apart, especially without Haden. Getting that big, dominant NT is becoming a more glaring top need than ever.

They had time to address their issues when Tuitt went down. They simply didn't. Bad decision making year after year after year. Rinse then repeat.
 
The whole team lives and dies by the defense and the defense revolves around one player - the nose tackle.

Alualu was our ONLY hope this year. Alas....

People want to blame just the coaches but we are seriously lacking talent right now on the defensive line and that is due mainly to injuries and what ever the hell is going on with Tuitt. This defense is predicated on good d line play from three guys not just one. Bush is just not doing anything right now but we have no real replacement until the rookie is ready if ever. O line will be ok with health and one more guard or tackle depending on Banner.
 
Najee needs to just run when there is an opening. He is shell shocked I think from there always being someone in his face that when there isn't he keeps shuffling around...hit it and go!

This Is correct, mostly… they don’t need a total overhaul but they need an oline stud to anchor the line… they need a young NT

They may have on made a grievous error getting the skilled Harris over a stud olineman… he will be good but fixing that line was soooo important

You see that Big, Quick, Strong NT/DT from Oklahoma last night? Can't remember his name, but, other than jumping off sides about 3 times, he was a beast. The off sides penalties make me wonder about his smarts though
