It’s almost as if the injury bug in the Steel City has become a bigger story than the actual Pittsburgh Steelers Week 2 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders last Sunday. After already starting the season off without DL Stephon Tuitt, DL Tyson Alualu suffered a fractured ankle over the weekend and is most likely lost for the season. Stack those names on top of other defensive starters on the team such as EDGE TJ Watt, CB Joe Haden, and LB Devin Bush (all with groin injuries and who are all susceptible to missing more time this season), who is going to be asked to play a larger role up front?
Enter DL Chris Wormley.

Wormley spoke to the media about the loss of Alualu, his expanding role on defense, the upcoming battles in the AFC North, and more.
Wormley has two tackles so far on this early season, and one career sack for the Steelers since joining the team in March 2020. The five year total veteran will now look to step up for the team in a big way, especially in run support.

So what say yinz, Steeler Nation? Is Wormley ready to play a larger role on defense now that both Tuitt and Alualu are out? Click to comment below!

“I think it’s going to be a role by committee.” He continued. “Until then [if/when Tyson Alualu comes back from injury], it’s going to be a bigger load on a lot of the other guys, and myself included.”
