Some of you guys need to go outside and touch grass. The Steelers lost. BFD. They'll probably lose next week too. Hell, there's a real chance they lose the next 3. As disappointed as we all will be, life will go on.

I don't think Tomlin is a great coach, but I'll say this. You don't go 18 consecutive seasons without a losing season because you're football illiterate. The problem I have is that in spite of such a fantastic winning record, the guy only has playoff wins in 4 of those seasons with this season still to be decided, and the last playoff win was seven years ago. That gets any coach fired except, apparently, Mike Tomlin.

I think MT's biggest problem is that he knows what he knows and despite an ever-evolving game, he is going with what he knows. I feel like the game is passing him by a bit. He has the talent on this team to do a lot more than they've done, but he seems so risk averse that he kinda refuses to be great. He could start by ditching the Tampa 2 closely followed by throwing to the middle of the field more than a handful of plays a game.

In contrast to previous years where he achieved mediocre results with superb talent, at least this year he's achieving above average results with less talent. I guess I will have to call that improvement.

The fact the offense couldn't sustain any type of drive didn't do the defense any favors, neither did single covering Brown, especially on third down.

To play THAT badly on offense, and still have a shot says we might be quite as bad as the sky is falling crowd thinks.

People just are finally getting a little hope that we wake up and it’s no longer Groundhog’s Day.
We face a playoff caliber team, an actual SB contender, after the line of tomato cans we’ve been playing and the squad looks outclassed, the coaching looks over whelmed and a typical result to what folks see in the playoffs. It’ll take back to back BAL/KC wins for me to buy into this team going anywhere…what’s the chance of that happening?

The sky isn’t falling…it’s the same damn dark grey storm cloud that’s been circling this Tomlin led team for years and years and years…

This game was a bit or a legitimacy test, one where we achieved the usual result and failed to establish legitimacy as a SB contender.

So alas the sky isn’t falling, it isn’t even changing a bit. We simply wake up and realize it’s Groundhog’s Day yet again and the sun still hasn’t poked out from the storm cloud.

No worries tho as the Tomlinship is already polished and in the trophy case and a playoff berth has been locked up…so the standard has already been met! We’re winners, the sky ain’t falling!

Mike Tomlin is Mike Tomlin. This is his team. Every DC after Lebeau has run this 2 down lineman Tampa 2 stuff. The offense has been the same since Ben’s last couple seasons. Different QB’s and OC’s but same offensive philosophy. Sure, Arthur Smith has put in a wrinkle or two, but it’s the same crap basically. Everything outside, little to no play action, hardly anything to the middle of the field, same red zone struggles.

I don’t know how you could possibly get him to change. The guy has never had a losing season or enough adversity to cause him to re-evaluate the things he does. It’s like his mentality is that “it’s good enough.” It’s weird. In a league where teams are constantly looking to innovate and improve it seems like the Steelers don’t. It’s like they are that guy on the interstate doing 5 under the speed limit in the left lane. It’s maddening sometimes.

Warren had 4 for 12, it wasn't just Najee. A defense like Philly, you have to run right at them. As soon as you start pulling, and running to the edge, you've lost the play. They are too fast.

Unfortunately he’s also good for 12-13 games of absolute pedestrian mediocrity that make ya think “they spent a first on this guy?”

80% of the time his best ability is availability and ball security. When he lacks ball security it takes away half his good talent.

6 for 14 and a costly fumble would have to greatly improve to reach mediocre…that was just an absolute performance

But it is falling for those with the empty hope that we will win a playoff game after 7 excruciating years. The reality that Tomlin has somehow changed his ways and the team has some hope of advancing is gone like a fart in the wind.
