Steelers First Round Pick - Derrick Harmon

Thank God no Sanders circus and instead a player who can handle the 1 or 2i, let Benton move to the 5 along with Heyward. Run-stopping improved immensely with this pick. And Harmon has great balance, good use of hands so his pass rush is well beyond the Casey Hampton level.
 
I’m good with this. They needed a DL more than they needed a QB.
 
Nice pick. Nolan was the guy I was hoping for, but this is a good guy who plays hard at a position of great need.

I was hoping Johnson at that point, although Harmon n Hampton were still there, being draft apparently deep at DL/RB, but something is clearly up, because DB’s keep coming off the board not named Johnson???

They were patient and stayed the course,despite all the speculation. Welcome to the Steelers big guy! We’ve been calling for it for years. Derrick’s mom is in the hospital on life support. As soon as he was picked he was going to the hospital to tell his mom he is now in the NFL as a Pittsburgh Steeler. Let’s all wish his mother and her family all the best.
 
good solid pick! honestly hoping they get McCord if they go for a QB. should go after one of the backs available and still think OL needs work! Will be interesting to see how things play out!
