Well that's the problem, if that's true, then why is Tomlin protecting Pickens so much, if the guy needs Tomlin to lie for him and stoke his ego constantly, then Pickens can leave asap.
No matter what his route was supposed to do, he didn't run the route, and the Safety even said he wasn't concerned with Pickens at all, he watched Wilson's eyes, the safety never moved, Russ has to see that.

Not sure if you watched Big Ben's podcast, but Ben had a great take on this, agreeing with you that he is supposed to run a vertical to keep the safety honest (no duh) but he also said that he would have opened left, eyes left on Pickens to not only keep that safety honest, but if the CB slips, that's his primary receiver. Ben would have progressed his reads from left to right, opposite of what Russ did. Made sense to me.

Exactly, and Reid said he was just reading Wilson's eyes, had he looked to Pickens first it would've at least moved Reid somewhat too.
I think Pickens is a tool, and not worth the money he's going to want, that would be a huge mistake by us if we sign him, and I agree he should've ran a vertical route, he got lazy AGAIN, but that doesn't excuse Russ for not trying even looking at Reid to try to move him on the int.
