Sigh. You know I'm not a Bengals fan.
And you know I've stated several times that Ben hasn't been playing well. But, just like Troy Polamalu, I don't think you toss a guy on the trash heap because he's lost a step when that guy has basically been your franchise for the better part of 20 years.
I know you're frustrated. I'm frustrated. But the fact is, this team is a whole ******* lot worse than Ben Roethlisberger being 3 feet off on a 30 yard pass a couple times.
They have arguably the worst offensive line in football, perhaps including some college teams. They have a receiving corps that has managed to lead the entire league in drops over the last 10 games. They have a defense that apparently can't perform without Bud ******* Dupree on the opposite side of Watt.
They have a DB corps that gets an interception about as often as they win the lottery.
They have a head coach who has won 3 playoff games since the last Superbowl appearance, what 10 or so years ago?
They have an owner that seems more and more like he just doesn't give a ****.
The only decent coach the Steelers have had in over a decade left (ostensibly) to be nearer his kids in Colorado. More likely he realized what a ******* dead-end job it would be to remain with the Steelers.
And in ALL of that, yes. Ben's playing like ****. He is. And if you want Mason Rudolph to step in and get his ******* head caved in by the Browns again, you know... have at it. But let's not pretend that anything Ben Roethlisberger could do, even at the top point of his career could fix this ******* dumpster fire.
