It'd be nice to stop wasting picks on guys we eventually cut at the end of the season. That's twice in 2 years.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

How in the bloody Hell will we ever beat the Pats now?

Any chance for #7 just walked out the door. . .

2 years.
2 draft picks traded
2 players never utilized

How bad could he be that he can't get on the field ahead of William Gay this off-season? The guy has every measurable we would look for.

There could be a number of reasons but I'm guessing top 2 are: 1.) off field issues/character issues/work ethic issues and 2.) salary cap is not favorable with him on the roster.

Now we're in the habit of trading picks for rental players....

Whatever. Unless it's a WR all our round 5 or later picks pretty much suck.

not even going to let the guy compete at training camp and then cut him? something is strange about this

Joe Thomas tweeted that Gilbert didn't love the game. Hard to live up to your potential when you don't have your heart in it.

If that's the case, then the right organizational move is to "cut bait" and move on. Don't need a washed up player who can't or doesn't want to be on the field.

Yep it's gotta be more than just performance and I have to think the team saw more in him than a rental player or Boykin 2.0 when they traded for him

Sounds like now they must see what Joe Thomas saw - no heart

All I know is - we need multiple OLB's and multiple CB's this offseason. If free agency can help, then do it.

Yea, I don't get it. Unless at the coaches exit meeting, he let the team know he wanted to get on with his life's work, I don't know why he wouldn't be in TC next summer?

They need to get a legitimate guy in FA. I realize you aren't getting a shut down guy. Just a Mike Mitchell level guy. Then you can go edge rusher in round one and you are pretty well set.

We need pressure on the QB like yesterday, I stand or er sit firm that we need to get two players in free agency. A CB and a OLBer.

And I am not talking scrubs. I am talking better than your Moats type of pickup........

You will only get one. At best you will get one. And no way it's a top flight either. AB contract and Bell franchise tag. Oh speaking of which you likely need a back up running back unless Williams can and wants to come back for one more go.

Agreed. A CB and an OLB in FA, and one of each high in the draft as well

exactly attack the weaknesses. Not just add one and hope for the best. Attack !

Meanwhile, the Patriots traded for, or signed or whatever they did, Eric Rowe, who ended up being a significant contributor to a Super Bowl winning team. I would assume the Steelers could have had a chance to get him. One of the subtle differences in the organizations right now that is making a big difference.

Isn't this a guy they spent a lot of time on prior to the draft? You'd think a team could determine if a guy loved the game or not.

They only gave up a 6th rounder. They NEVER EVER amount to anything. smh

This practice of dumping draft picks for cornerbacks who they don't play is getting old.

They need to upgrade the position instead of throwing **** against the wall and hoping one sticks.

I have Monkeys for that, special rental price for you...........

Salute the nation

So we got outwitted by the **** stains. Sweet.

I would have, at least, brought him in for OTA's, camp and the pre-season. The dude got almost no practice time during the season since he was so far down the depth chart. Stupid move.

If you're going to cut him now, then cut Coates now and don't give him another shot during camp and preseason. He sucked worse than just about anyone else on the team after he broke his fingers and that is not a good enough excuse.
