Steelers trade for DK

I am, but at the same time, do you cut bait before you have their replacement, or an idea of one? In Patterson's case, he's realistically the only RB rostered at the moment.
I hear that arguement but it doesn't make me feel any better that they will replace these guys who have very little to no value to the team.

The more I thought about this last night I can’t help but believe Pickens is on the trade block. They sent a clear message to George that you aren’t our guy. They are NOT paying both George and Metcalf big money. I think they’ve had enough of Pickens attitude and immaturity and are ready to move on.
If they can get a first or even a second you have to move on and draft your number two WR.
They may even be close to having a trade partner already for Pickens. We’ll see!
They might even half to settle for a 3rd pick for Pickens. I hope I’m wrong

The whole league knows the Steelers won’t be resigning him and knows of his character issues. It sucks because his value should be a 2nd round pick at minimum.

Pickens has to go this offseason tho, he will be a cancer all next year and probably a training camp holdout going into his last year on his rookie deal

You are going to be very surprised then next year. I'll tell you that for free. He's Pickass' muscular older brother. And he absolutely tries when he feels like it.

He demands targets more than Pickens does
His hands aren’t close to Pickens

But other than that he’s a lot of the things everyone gets on Pickens for

This could get real interesting

Why would they trade him for a 3rd when they just spent a 2nd on lesser talent. If they want a 3rd for GP ya simply let his final cheap year play out and take the comp pick

Because with two of them it's going to have more drama then Real Housewives of Pittsburgh unreality show.

You only can hope multiple teams will be interested in him. And that they drive the cost for him up.

In my opinion Pickens will be way worse this year regarding attitude playing out the last year of his contract without an extension. He will probably hold out of training camp. He will get less targets this year with DK here and Tomlins insistence on emphasizing the run-he will be a cancer.

Might as well trade him and use the pick they get on a WR II who will compliment DKs style, be good locker room guy and not whine about targets, miss blocks, run the wrong route, etc

Maybe with both of them it will work out like when they give a hyperactive kid adderall?

Drugs, It’s not for supper,……………………….. give it to them for breakfast and practice will be over before it wears off…

Salute the nation

I would stand firmly against trading away the better of the two when all last season we had the better guy of the two and needed more.

I’m pretty sure the plan is to go into the season with two receivers this year, even if one of them is GP lite to pair with GP

Then they have GP lite still rostered when GP leaves (if he is not tagged)

I'll forget that play where blocking was too much an effort for him when the play was right there in his lap. I've never been that lazy, even if backyard football, never. And it turns out that was the real GP.

I'm assuming many have seen the video of DK bashing the Seachickens and wanting out (heck, the vid may be in this thread but I didn't look). He said he wants warmer weather and a team with a high powered offense and a QB room not in flux. He got none of that coming to Pittsburgh. He and GP won't last on the same team if we don't have a high-powered offense (not run, run, pass, punt). Just look at AJ Brown with the Beagles. He was complaining during the season and in the playoffs yet they won the SB. I guess he feels like an idiot for doing so. Then again, probably not. DK and/or GP are both divas and both openly complain about not getting the ball.

Then, if the add Rodgers and all of his drama and demands and this team will become dysfunctional. If we thought Wilson and Smith may have had a problem last year, Rodgers wants things to run his way (a lot of passing - pass first offense). Will Smith and Tomlin change the offense for a dude who may only be here for a year or two? The Steelers would be a soap opera with Rodgers, DK, GP, and all of their egos.

Sad thing is we're already dysfunctional. The WR that alot of fans want to be our number 1 quit on a play at the goal line because he didn't want to get hurt. The head coach is so full of himself and everything has to be his way, he totally handcuffs the offense and QB after the best offensive performance by far at Cincy. I have never heard a Head Coach pretty much say we're afraid to throw in the middle of the field.

All true, I am thinking Pgh has plans to ditch GP during this draft, if they can, they got to be thinking about it.

Again, trading GP away makes the DK trade absolutely worthless, and puts in the same exact position we were in last year, only worse. And I say worse, because the WR1 is more expensive, the WR2 is no longer on the roster, the WR3 is the same, Wilson is still and unknown, and there is no one else on the roster.

I have a feeling we are to at the end of the GP rope yet; Pgh has something going, whether or not it comes to fruition is the question.

Not if they draft a WR such as Egbuka in the first and then trade Pickens for a 2nd where they can add one of the very talented RBs.

Cracks me up that a vast majority are so damn horny to trade George

We spent all last year with 1 offensive threat…and it was absolutely crippling

Khan whiffs multiple times trying to plug the hole

Khan finally gets a 2nd guy and everyone that was crying about needing a WR2 last year is hoping to jettison one of the receivers now that they are finally to 2

The **** just makes zero sense

Khan ain’t trading GP
He finally got that elusive WR2

His first reaction isn’t going to be “well ****, let me
See how I can create a gigantic roster hole that I’ve been struggling to fill for a whole damn year”

Just makes zero sense

Unless the strategy is to have Skyler as QB1 and to absolutely tank, then sure get rid of GP…aside from that it ain’t happening. And I know
Some here would support that move if it meant a gateway to Shades departure

If they sign Erin Raggers it’s definitely a sign that they are really panicking trying to manufacture some playoff success

If Skyler is QB1, maybe there’s a chance for the trade

Because history is on the side of a rookie WR playing a significant, ie starting role, for Mike Tomlin. Not to mention, you don't know if that rookie WR will actually pan out in thy nfl.

I'll keep GP AND my first round pick to use it on a hole that currently exists, not one I'm going to create.
