Steelers VS Indy game thread.

He also overthrew DJ by 10 yards to stall a drive. He didn’t make any big mistakes. We won. But he didn’t win this game. The running game and a few key turnovers and maybe even a missed PI call all can be credited a little.
not sure that was pi

the receiver jumped into the defender

I'd say he had about 4 ****** throws. Missed Pickens. Dirted a couple and sailed one. He doesn't call the plays I don't know what you expect.

His completion percentage was over 70. A QB let alone a rookie who can do that will help win you some games.

Look look, it's just clear, it's a fact, Rudolph is better. Let's all forget he was once benched in favor of Duck Hodges, and couldn't beat the winless Lions. Pickett just will never reach the level, acclaim, and ability of Mason Rudolph. Face it folks, Ford is just better than you at understanding football, and he knows it

He game managed. We didn’t win because of him.
The guy was 20-28 for 174. I’m not usually a “but “ guy,but he had for sure 4 drops against him. Yes of course some great catches too. Most importantly he had no frigging Int’s.

He made some very, very NFL QB ACCURATE throws in the 4th. When it frigging mattered. His stock definitely pointed up today. He has slowly improved. I thought he had a good game and definitely was a big part of their win. You’ve got lots of football experience. I just can’t believe you can’t see his improvement and cheer him on. Even if it hurts. I don’t think anyone here has anointed him as a HOF. But they are more than willing to give him at least a chance. And yes.....I see his faults too.

I get the feeling you would like nothing better than to go on and on in this thread about Mason having better stats and not being given a fair chance. Seriously Man.

20/28 174 is not good people

172 yards rushing as a team. 71% completions. That's exactly what they need as he grows.

I'm actually pretty ecstatic with what I'm seeing and in a garbage offense with a lower tier OL that has nobody noteworthy on it.

Things are trending the right way. Enjoy the ride.

No INTs either. I know he'll go down as one of the most despised QBs in Steelers history but O' Donnell had a similar game. Effective passing and usually no INTs. Worked for the most part when combined with a killer running attack and strong D...So you don't necessarily need a franchise QB to go places..

Lol......I am sure I’m in the 10% of people that actually liked Neil. He usually put us in a position to win. His passing was usually quite effective. There was just that one rather important game that ****** up any legacy whatsoever .
Interesting read down below.

He picked a bad day to have his worst game as a pro. I liked Neil's low Int percentage outside of that loss. Which is what I am liking from the rookie he is leading drives and his INTs are down. I believe that was his most accurate game as a pro I would have to double check the stats. His stock is trending up.

Pickett is much much more aware of his surroundings already than rudolph ever will. I really do not see the comparance. I think pickett will be our future. To me he already looks better than the rookie class from last year.

Operating above the line. And things of that nature.

Third and goal from the 2.
Injury timeout.
Kenny goes to Sullivan and tells him the play he'd like to run. It's a read option they practice, but haven't put on film too much. After watching film of the Colts, Kenny feels it's the perfect time to that particular play. (i.e. he "sees" something).
Kenny and Sullivan take the play to Tomlin; who OKs it. (In reading articles about this sequence, you will notice that the "OC" is not brought into the discussions).
Steelers come out of the timeout and run Kenny's play.
Benny Snell scores a TD.
Putting in the film work. Being situationally aware and aware enough of your opponent's tendencies to call a play that works and gives your team the go-ahead touchdown.
That's an example of how Kenny Pickett helped his team win last night.

and what were Ben's stats like as a rookie?

2004 Season Big Ben stats

1. 12-20 176. 2td 2 int
2. 12-22 163. 1 td. 1 int
3. 17-25. 174. 1td. 0
4. 16-21. 231. 1 td. 1 int
5. 21-25. 193. 2 td. 0
6. 18-24. 196. 2 td. 0
7. 11-18. 183. 2 td. 1 int
8. 10-16. 134 yds. 0 td. 1 int
9. 15-21. 138 yds 1 td. 0
10. 9-20. 131 yds. 0 td. 0 int
11. 14-17. 221 yds. 2 tds. 0int
12. 9-19. 144 yds. 0 tds. 2 int
13. 18-28. 316 yds. 1 td. 2 int.
14. 14-19. 221 yds. 2 tds. 1 int.
15 .......they sat him for last regular season game.....or injured? Can’t remember... they won with Maddox
Playoffs.
16. 17-30. 181 yds. 1 td. 2 int
17. 14-24. 226 yds. 2 tds. 3 int.

I count 11 games under 200 yds. Not quite what you thought?
Jerome and even the Duece scampered for many 100 yd games.
They averaged 23.3 points a game for the season.
The big difference from what I see is of course the TD passes.
Kenny certainly needs to deliver more TD passes.
Obviously Kenny is hampered by our idiot play caller.
While Big Ben could get out of trouble when he was younger,Kenny will end up with way more rushing yds.
By the way......our D that year led the league with a paltry 15.7 points against. Think that helped Ben?

Ben had a magical rookie season. I put these stats up for your viewing pleasure. Mostly because the comparisons will never go away. Here they are,in black and white. Too lazy to put up Kenny’s so far.
