Disagree to an extent...there is a reason that mediocre teams tend to remain mediocre for long periods...because you draft just low enough that you decrease the chances of impact players being available without having to trade up to get them. Then if you miss on a pick, it is an even harder ordeal not just from the busted pick but what you gave up to move up.

I hate comparisons like this. Pickett is not Big Ben, and this team isn’t that team. Success or failure by other players, none of which are currently playing, means nothing to the current players’ success or failure.
Ben had, at the time, one of the all time highest QB ratings for a rookie qb… but this was primarily because they really kept it simple for him… and, you know… actually taught wrs to come back to the ball, run routes to completion, and do good scramble drills…
