that's a bit of a stretch, how many guys on this team ARE consistant on a week to week basis?
This is a passing league now, we need to get that through our heads and come out and let Ben control the offense.

Ben is not an elite QB that can carry an offense your love for him aside.

In Ike's defense, he's probably a little hesitant to do anything that could re injure his arm...not saying it's THE reason he played poorly today, but....that has to be in the back of his mind.

another reason Tomshit should be fired, the coach has to to know when to play players and when not to, I guess he gave Taylor a kiss on the lips this morning and told him to play his hardest....epic failure again

We are now one and a half games behind the Bengals and we are now beg=hind the Chargers for a wild card spot, the Rats loss did not help or hurt us.

R u ******* kidding me dude? He was terrible today!! Let me point out the difference between a really good QB and an average one... Brees has a back that goes for 100, he throws 5 TD's because the defense has to concern themselves so much with the run. Our guy has a back that does the same, he throws for ZERO!! And the Saints defense is just as bad if not worse than Pittsburgh's. Like I said earlier, the two anomaly games have skewed Ben's stats to the point that it looks like we have a QB that's having a great year when the reality is we have a QB that has had two really good games. We have one of, if not the best RB in the league this year, and our QB can't seem to be able to use that to his advantage to score points. Put this guy behind Brady or Rodgers or Brees every week and watch what they would do... They would be ******* deadly if defenses had to gameplan for not only themselves, but an absolute stud of a tailback in the backfield with them. Look what Rodgers has been doing with Lacy. Here's the deal for all the Ben apologists.. He's a decent but very flawed QB that shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with guys like Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and so on. With this running game, one of the best if not the best reciever in the game, very solid TE, and some good young recievers that this team has, there is no ******* way in hell this team should struggle to score the way that it does. Period. Now all the Ben nuthuggers I'm sure are gonna pounce on me, but take the blinders off just for a minute and tell me where I'm going off the rails.

Something about this team I just have a hard time understanding. I can blame Ben but I have to question the receivers that aren't in the open that much, looking at the Saints today they had receivers open. Ben forcing the ball just to many times. Ben as well as the rest of the team makes some plays and then it all falls apart. Today we are stopping the Saints and moving the ball for two field goals ( again no Td's ). We then get a false start and bam the whole game seemed to change. We stopped putting pressure on Brees and he picked our sad secondary apart. The play of the game second and 17 and good old Taylor once again gives it up. We have Bell out of the backfield running for a possible score and Brown doesn't even try to block, end up field goal. It is more than Ben that makes this team mediocre at best, not making a play when needed. Hard to watch.

or maybe the fact Brees had 30 sec to pass the ball and our OL is below the line in pass protection.....that said Ben had a bad game....threw high a lot....the ball still hit his receivers in there hands....tough catches...yep...but i dont remember any of the high ones being caught and unfortanteately there were a lot of high passes earlier on. Just might have changed the game in the beginning. We will never know. In the end our Offensive players didnt step up any where when it mattered and our Defense stunk again.

Well...when an offense plays as poorly as ours did, in most cases, the Quarterback takes the bullet...........Ben has to own this one again. He hasnt play solid since the two game 12 TD explosion....THAT was a fluke......had to be, because hes nowhere near that level of performance....ever. Folks love his high completion pctg and wanna group him in with the elites....hes not puttin the ball in the end zone....hes not finding or hittin the open receivers consistently. Right now, hes pressing and when you press, you make mistakes.

Our defense is bad............but this is where an elite QB can carry a team and help cover that deficit on defense. Ben cant do it but for a few games.........give him a solid defense and he may keep you in a game...or maybe its the other way around..a solid defense keeps HIM in the game.

Bingo. We have oodles of individual offensive talent, but will they ever realize their full potential? Hell no. Theyll have 2-3 games a season where everything falls together and then they'll bumble around vs. defenses who dont have NEAR the athletes and potential playmakers on our offensive side. Steelers are beyond the point of needing a cadre of coaches who know how to plan an opponent and get the best focus/execution out of the players to create a winning environment. The current lot just doesnt cut it

I agree with a lot of what you said...Maybe if our WR's catch some off those high passes that went threw their hands it might have changed the direction of the game early on. I dont know...Sometimes a QB is off as Ben was and their surrounding players pick there game up for him. It didnt happen early on and the game spiral downward early on for them.
