Steelers will reportedly decline Broderick Jones' 5th-year option

All right, if you can't even understand what you wrote there's nothing much to say right? Have a nice day mr apologist.
Or you could just admit you have a reading and comprehension issue with your lame azz. Never mentioned once about liking anybody. Wtf you talking about.

He feels pretty good about how he feels for those players, that tells you everything
First of all I still dont know what you're talking about when you say I said I was happy with my own thoughts in regards to any players I was having a conversation with involving insaniti...and you cant direct quote anything.

I did say something similar to that to madinsomniac in regards to players that I feel pretty good about that the Steelers moved on from. I specifically said

" I feel pretty good about how I feel about any of the players you mentioned other than the ones they couldnt afford to pay, but why would you even bring those players up???"

So either you're misquoting me or you're replying to the wrong person and the wrong conversation. Either way you're wrong.

I’ve always said that Colbert and Cowher worked in unison together and had some really good drafts. I’ve also said that Colbert and Tomlin did not work well together and the drafts reflected as much.
Tomlin over the years had far too much control
and influence in building the roster. Lots of mediocre rosters which produced mediocre results.
Never developed a QB to transition from Ben and now we’re paying the price.
This critique is also valid with Noll as Bradshaw was nearing the end. They took Malone in the first round in '80...thinking he would be the guy....and passed on Marino in 83 largely due to Malone and dope rumors with Danny boy.

Kudos, however, for not worrying about Bradshaw ego and taking a QB in the first round in 80....at least they tried to get their heir apparent...

well, gotta let the Cook get burnt before we Max out at RT

The new staff has been here for 5 minutes and already has players in their college positions.
And here we were so fond of the Steelers version of musical chairs.

we drafted Omar Jacobs in 2006 (Rd 5), Dennis Dixon in 2008 (Rd 5), Landry Jones in 2013, Josh Dobbs in 2017 (Rd 4), and Mason in 2018 (Rd 3).

I'd suggest we were trying to profit as much as possible off Ben's arm for the duration of his career, as anyone drafted would be a backup. Ben only complained about Mason being drafted in 2018 since he was wanting as many weapons as possible since the sun was setting on his career. Imagine how he'd have been if we spent a first on Lamar Jackson in 2018, instead of Terrell Edmunds.

hindsight is 20/20, and that would have been a better use of a 1st round pick, though. Team-wise, we'd have a much different dynamic and that may have led to Ben going elsewhere instead of retiring as a Steeler.
Darn it. You're using logic again.

Can't compute...

He didnt jack him around though. Okorafor was terrible at RT and ended up being benched and so they had no choice but to play him at RT since Dan Moore seemed the better option at LT. So essentially they were forced into the move. Anybody who actually followed the team would know that ...not some troll who jumps online to type the first thing to come into his rabid brain.

If not Jones at RT then who was the better option to play at RT in his stead?? Jones actually had a better than average rookie season so playing RT was not the issue. His issue is between his two ears moreso then anything else because he doesnt have that dawg in him and he plays lazy a lot affecting his technique and focus. That has nothing to do with him being jacked around.
Exactly. The fact that "no one else" could play RT always gets forgotten in the Broderick Jones saga.

Hindsight does shine a negative light on the HC and FO for not being prepared for that, obviously...

Add in that Tomlin chose Moore to be starting LT over Jones.

Jones clearly thought he was better than Moore and let that positioning battle work against his state of mind. Sort of like a boil festering.

Moore ranked dead last in LT evaluation of all starters for that season, justifying Jone’s line of thinking.

Tomlin eventually told the Media that Moore couldn’t play RT (not true) and thus cementing phycological contempt.

Behind closed doors there was way more controversial going on than what is mere fans had privy.

The thing is, even as a rookie green-horn……. Jones was a better LT than Dan Moore and it took Jones a while to over come the mental side of that decision.

Salute the nation
He didn't choose. He had no choice...

The general rule is actually you go with the lesser of two evils. I understand your point, but once again I ask everyone who is trying to downplay the Okorafor bad play and Fautaunu injury who would you have you played on the rt side?? Out of all the people who have responded to me and upvoted the comments of people opposed to my view no one has answered that question.

Once again Moore had only played one game ever at RT between his college and professional career even to this point. You cant put him on the right side SO HE IS NOT AND WAS NOT AN OPTION.
I think you're right.

He didn't choose. He had no choice...

Berm I know going into a conversation you generally lean Mike’s way and overall I am not strong on talkingTomlin’s strengths and weaknesses now as I think it is pointless.

But I will repeat as I said before he had all the choices:

He chose the schemes and didn’t adapt. He chose who to bring in and who to let go. He influenced the draft. As every HC does.

We all are well versed in his strengths and weaknesses and saying blanket statements that he had no choice on what player played where due to circumstance isn’t accurate when he is the reason for that circumstance.

I hope the site gets passed these convo’s.

But I will say one of the man’s last messages was he acknowledged his playoff deficiencies. We can conjecture what mainly caused that. But to think playing players incorrectly through position and or schematic isn’t a part of that really isn’t supported by repetitive outcome and players outcomes once moving on through play or through communication. With opposing players often backing up the same thought process.

We know two posters opinions will not change. We know many other’s opinions will not change. I know as I have witnessed it.

We do know the majority lean towards what I have typed.

So we all can agree to disagree because we know these opinions are locked in at this point none of the posters are going to change their stance at this point.

The horse has been beat enough yinz guysms let it rest.
